Yeah, I kinda wish they’d tone down the nonsense between them. Celestia didn’t have Luna for 1000 years. You’d think during that time someone was doing the dream magic thing, most fittingly her, and she would already understand how damn hard it is so well she’d never forget.
 
She also acted like she didn’t know the moon was easier to raise than the sun. Who was doing it all that time???
 
That episode is okay overall but it kind of acts like Nightmare Moon had no consequences and that’s a pretty big oversight!

I wish they would stop treating Celestia and Luna as if they are in their 20’s

I kinda like the idea that no one was handling dreams while Luna was away.
 
Because even if it’s not ABSOLUTELY critical for a pony’s survival, having good dreams would doubtless help with morale. And so that’s how Luna helps.

Ah, but that’s how the world works now. You can’t be critical and you can’t be negative. If your thoughts aren’t happy happy joy joy puppies and rainbows, you have to keep them to yourself.
 
If you don’t like something, people label you a biggot or a “insert term”-phobe. People are way too sensitive now.

People will call you names no matter what you do. We were responding to a post stating anyone who isn’t negative is being dishonest, and this place has been called a Hasbro shilling circle jerk plenty of times.
 
You can’t call people sensitive, while acting offended and persecuted for being made fun of.
 
I will debate someone as cordially as possible, no matter how objectively wrong they are about how wonderful Starlight Glimmer is what their opinion. Questioning a persons validity to make a claim in the first place annoys me just a little though.
 
I’m pretty sure we’re all pretty honest about our viewpoints here, or at least I’m going to take every statement made here in good faith. So please lets not throw any claims about being somehow intellectually dishonest for liking something.
 
And while we’re here, if you express a view and everyone promptly disagrees with you, that doesn’t mean they’re persecuting you or have anything against you personally. It simply means that view is unpopular with the majority of active posters.
 
This is not a bad thing. The majority of the worlds population are not that into colorful cartoon ponies, and they’re clearly wrong.
 
 
You go out there and kick holes in those walls, and rest assured that those who write you off as a lost cause five minutes after meeting you will be looking pretty damn stupid by the end of the episode.

Agreed. You could be the most manly of men with a body that looks like a body-builder and still be interested in a show like this.
 
People who get violently pissy about something like MLP is ridiculous. Anytime I see them do this, I think to myself “And you’re the ones trying to make us look like babies/austists/etc”.
 
Now I’m not saying the MLP side doesn’t go over the top when it comes to this, I’ve seen people drop MLP stuff in discussions where it’s not needed and annoying most people (Even if they’re fans themselves).

Speaking of Starlight, I find myself wondering if she’s gonna get a supporting role in one of the upcoming episodes, despite not being mentioned in the synopsis.
 
More on topic, it really is a fact of life, that you can’t please everyone. If you’re in the habit of posting unpopular opinions publicly, it’s an invitation for people to disagree with you.

I know we (myself included) have been bad about staying on topic lately, but I think we have now solidly strayed into Unpopular Opinion Time territory. Let’s try to get back to discussing S9, shall we?

Grogar would totally do that, he’s a very pragmatic guy as far as we can tell. That said, I think he’s more likely to say “you didn’t say which friends” and then release the Background 6 or something like that. He’d keep his word, but in a twisted way.

She’s had a few fun moments in the episodes so far. I’m willing to be she’ll get more, and wait patiently for her focus episode.
 
My prediction and what will satisfy me is a focus episode, and a major supporting role. Pretty much my bar for most of the main cast really.

You can be critical. You can be negative. But it if you post it publicly then deal with people disagreeing with you. Especially if you’re going do it on something people like.
 
Especially if you’re going to use words with heavily negative connotations. Like “shit”, or even just “bad”.
 
Reality is that the heavy majority of people yelling something is bad, shit, or “dying” is just that the person doesn’t like something and either just attention grabbing or trying to make everyone else not like something because they don’t. Because saying “I [personally] don’t like this” is too hard in today’s society.
