A sympathetic antagonist where the “heroes” personally did them wrong?
 
As much fun as antagonists who are mostly unsympathetic can be, that sounds awesome.

I’m not sure if it’s been pointed out here yet, but it made sense for Princess “Momlestia” Celestia to be the one judging the competition in lieu of their parents.
 
We can all agree that’s a valid reason for Twilestia to be considered a problematic ship, right? The fact that she had a large part in shaping who she would become since she was a child?

Technically it’s not incest, it’s just that you’d be kinda hard-pressed to argue against the word “grooming.”

They haven’t broken the directional continuity rule yet, so I doubt they’re going to do it in the final season.

Final season…still can’t get used to that. :(

kinda saw it mile away after Films underperformance Hasbro basically did the same with Transformers after 1986 movie

I’m gutted that the movie appears to have ended it. And despite still being financially successful.

But it wasn’t successful enough. Yeah, it probably made way more than it cost to create, but after an (underwhelming) ad campaign I’d be shocked if it broke even. What sucks is that it made the right amount- that movie is generic. When I’m honest, I only kinda like it cuz ponies, replace them with other characters and you understand why it’s Metacritic score is an abysmal 39. Not to mention, nine seasons is a lot for an animated show, and FiM has outlived such contemporaries as Adventure Time and… actually AT was the only one, but still. It’s had a good, long run, but the writers are starting to run out of ideas and it needs to end before it gets bad.

Genervt would be arguing with you for so many days on why it shouldn’t end…

I feel like they’ve barely scratched the surface of what this world could do.
 
Maybe, just maybe, if the show was replaced with a series of specials and shorts they could explore more whilst maintaining quality. Cut out filler as it were.
