Wasn’t Sunburst supposed to be Flurry’s caretaker? Why would they need Twilight to look after her?

Maybe he has important things to do, _{probably relating to the finale} and they need someone to cover for him. Either that or to teach Twilight something (probably due to the events of ‘celestial advice’ or some shit).

There is no freaking way Starlight developed her hateful misguided philosophy on her own.
 
I would like to think that either she picked up and read a bad book/scripture/whatever. Or somepony, someone, or something corrupted and misguided her in her moment insecurity.
 
But you’d think she would have disclosed this a long time ago with Twilight right? Had it been this case.

Actually, what the fuck are those two actually (initally) doing? Why did they agree on doing this? Which one of the two thought it up, or is it outside forces? if so, who are they, and why? We can see twi and celestia in the background in ‘discord flashback’ form, but that’s the most we can gather? The trailers mentions something about diving into the magic again. And what are all the symbols about on that circle.  
The trailer leaves me so many questions it seems stupid to assume it’s all starlight’s fault.

Another thing. She’s like a filly in a mare’s body. How did she miss so many years of maturity? Neglect? Overly sheltered? Or a possible mental disability?

The staff should’ve either cut out some of the alternate timeline sequences to expand on the backstory or save it for a later episode or something, because either way she needed more to reasonably justify her mindset.

I put that down to her magic power honestly. She’s never really had to grow up because her magic can “solve” any problem put in her path. She vindicates her own thought process via might making right.

She did mention that she spent a large portion of her life doing nothing but studying magic. I’d imagine she had tiger parents who pushed her to do that.

It’s been so long since I saw the S5 finale. I thought she might’ve been an orphan or something, which certainly wouldn’t help with her mental state.

She obviously didn’t go to Canterlot to study magic. Now it’s a matter of where she studied magic.  
She must have stumbled upon a school that teaches dark arts or something.

At this point it won’t really matter unless the staff can find a way to put in more GlimGlam backstory in a way the fans will accept.
 
Just say the Sunburst thing was the first step in a long line of trauma and that the rest was too horrible to comment on at the time. Have it be the in-universe equivalent to Psyche locks from Ace Attorney.
