For me the confusion comes about because the aliens in the new ALiens movie are called the “Neo-morphs” when technically they’re the predecessors to the Xenomorphs, not a newer variation.

So I finally watched both parts of the finale.
 
While it wasn’t a pure Starlight saves the day two-parter like last season, she was still the only voice of reason. I get it, not only is she the most magically powerful unicorn that ever existed but she’s also the wisest and most humble (as Mirror Magic also showed).
 
She’s second only to Nyx for being a blatant self-insert OC, IMO.
 
The things I did like: The “showdown” between Spike and Garble, the EqG cameo and Sonnambula in general.
 
Also, a bit of a nitpick, but when Pinkie retrieved the blindfold from the slime pit she was clearly both touching and standing on the slime and it didn’t harm her in any way. Oh, and the “Sonic Adventure bullshit” vents weren’t there either.

I think so, but the previous episode made it look like the slime was boiling, dissolving slime. But it couldn’t have been because a) it’d have dissolved the blindfold b) it’d have dissolved Pinkie even with the suit on, most likely.

Seriously, I want to just call Starlight and her friend the dork squad.  
I know Maud didn’t really act like one as the others do, but still, they are all dorks. :D

I just noticed how Rumble has potentially the ability excel as a great leader figure. If he was able to easily and confidently convince others that cutie marks are detrimental. Granted, they were just foals. He just needs to keep working on his charisma and narrative as he ages.

My conclusion is that the slime is a fantastical tar pit. If you fall in that liquid, chances are you are not getting out and either starve or drown.

I was more distracted by the fact that every member of the Mane 5 had to do something to ‘earn’ the item that’s inkeeping with their element. Pinkie didn’t. She just found it

Tar can be drained too. Its just not realistic to depict in a 22 minutes episode.

I really want to know what Chryssy’s plan is. It seems interesting. Also can’t wait for the art of her alt form.

I’m hoping season 8 will go deeper into unicorn culture, we got plenty of Pagesus culture thought the show so why not do the same for unicorns?

She never lost her idol worship. It’s just never been as bad as Lesson Zero.

Didn’t Twilight’s mind hit a brick wall and nearly have to be shipped to the loony bin when Starlight suggested that maybe Celestia and Luna were wrong? Granted others like RD have objected to Celestia in the past like at the beginning of EG1, but if Starlight continued that conversation with Twilight for 5 more minutes, Twilight might of had to have been moved to a nice padded room.
 
Granted, when Spike was trying to comfort Twilight about the Amending Fences situation and Twilight ignored the defense that she was helping Celestia, that’s something, but overall it just feels like she simply realized after Lesson Zero that enchanting or tricking others might be not the best way to be a good student of friendship and Celestia.
 
But when she was convinced while traveling the Badlands in the Movie that friendship wasn’t going to get them anywhere to helping Celestia and the others, she fell back on her Lesson Zero morals and deciding using others was easier.
