The fact of the matter is, I still feel like I have no reason to regard EG as canon. I won’t go as far as to say that people are wrong if they think it is, I’m just saying I haven’t been given that level of irrefutable proof yet.
 
I have to admit, I’d be surprised if that changes–if the show ever goes as far as to require any prior knowledge of EG from the viewer.

There’s no “irrefutable proof” either way and there’ll never be.
 
What I really can’t stand is the troll logic that some people went to recently, in that the Sirens scene not being completely accurate to their banishment story in Rainbow Rocks somehow makes the entire EqD franchise non-canon. That’s just going a bit too far.

Doesn’t it also contradict an earlier comic as well? You see, this is why it’s so much less stressful to consider only the show canon.

How is this supposed to be stressful? Watching the cartoon and movies are suppose to alleviate stress, not make more.

Fiendship is Magic #3 can’t possibly be canon anymore, yeah.
 
The story that Twilight reads in Rainbow Rocks is very vague though and can still fit with the events shown in the finale, unlike that comic.

So since Fiendship #3 ain’t canon anymore, are the Sirens 1000 years old? Are they just immortal? Do they not age? Was Starswirl’s portal a portal through time as well as dimensions?

Sphinx gave Somnambula the blindfold. The blindfold became one of the proto-Element of Harmony artifacts.

That’s lore though, I mean a massive status quo change.
 
I suppose the Elements being back and the Pillars and Starswirl being in the modern age permanently qualify, yeah, but somehow it doesn’t feel as big as what the finales of seasons three to six did. Mostly because I doubt that they’ll be seen that often.

That’d be nice but I’m betting that she’s still Starlight’s final test, in that finally defeating (and most likely redeeming) her in likely the season eight finale will lead to her own ascension.

|| I really hope the return of Starswirl and the legendary ponies is gonna have an impact on the citizens of Ponyville and Canterlot.||

I’ll have to watch 23 and 24 soon so I can fearlessly uncover spoilers.

Though MLP is not exactly great with change, two parters have introduced Cadance, Starlight, Discord, Chrysalis, Shining Armor, the Crystal Empire, Flurry Heart, Twilight’s Wings, her new castle, reformed the changelings and removed the elements of harmony.
 
It’s not like them changing the status quo is unknown.

The slime is probably slime. If you fall on if, you probably can’t get out and die either from drowning or starvation (like if you fell on a tar pit).
