Season 6 Episode Discussion [Speculation/Theories/Beware of Spoilers]

ok just a question: is there any difference between the UK release of the S6 finale and today’s official release?

I think the voices are slightly higher in the uk release.

I think it’s because the episodes are already being looked for by the content ID system what with the leaks a couple of weeks earlier.

Yeah, PAL region TVs are actually faster than most others, so everything’s a little bit faster and higher-pitched in the UK release. At least, I think that’s how it works; I don’t totally understand it myself.

I doubt it. Top Bolt was also leaked and in the saturday, the official version was uploaded to Youtube normally. even Equestria Daily is taking notice of this delay.

the finale wasn’t as spectacular as most tend to be imo, but it did a well enough job at doing what it wanted to do and it didn’t bug me in any way (pun unintended)
 
I especially like how Chrysalis came out of this whole thing without being reformed, and considering how she basically has nothing it will be interesting to see where her situation leads, if it goes anywhere at all; the reformed Changelings are pretty neat as well
 
the leads were all entertaining, I expected Starlight and Discord to be the ones to butt heads most often considering how Starlight prefers order and Discord is literally chaos incarnate, but I got the kind of bickering I expected with Trixie instead so… yay I guess?
 
I found it enjoyable, not amazing but I liked it, acceptable way to end the season if you ask me

Well, the episode’s only been out in the US for less than a day and there’s already Draco in Leather Pants fanfics trying to portray Chrysalis as a victim who was forced out by the nasty ponies even though she rejected their offer of friendship.

Not really, no. On the other hand, the fanfic in question was from Chrysalis’s own point of view, so perhaps it was merely her own warped perspective on things.

I’m still wondering just how he was able to just, live alongside them then go away on his own. You’d think any changeling, not just Chrysalis would realize how much of a nail sticking out he is and would hammer him beforehand.

I guess they didn’t really have a problem with him till he sided with the prey.

What part was the motherly instincts?  
Starlight pointed out how Thorax was now able to be just fine without feeding on ponies’ love because he now shard it with them, so made his one.  
The thing with motherly instincts is they also get one to want good for their children, and that was what Starlight was pointing out to her, but she didn’t care about that, she wanted control, she didn’t even second guess it.  
Seems there was actully a lake of motherly instinct on her part.

Maybe they just figured Thorax was way at the bottom of the pecking order, and would eventually starve to death if he didn’t shape up to be a proper changeling. It wasn’t until he joined the ponies for a rescue mission that Queen Chrysalis finally decided to do away with him.

Just like the last time she was around, she got blown out by a sudden rule change.

But as I said, she didn’t even second guess it.  
Until Thorax that was how changelings worked, because it was never done before, but if she was acting out of any form of motherly instinct then the thought of a way that was better for her children would of made her at lest stop for a split second over the news.

Heck it’s why I liked that Thorax came in, it showed that if the runt had an idea that seemed to be somthing Chrysalis never tried, she wasn’t really trying to take over just to feed her people, it was for control as well.

But she knew he was full of love, and it seemed she was aware it wasn’t from feeding on others.  
She knew it wasn’t a lie, she just didn’t care.
