Are they not just being friends?

I feel like people are more likely to use “They’re just being friends” regarding ships they don’t support, but if the same thing happens (like here) it’s “evidence” to support the ship.

Welcome to shipping. One can easily say that Flutters/Dash is just them being friends, yet others will treat it as shipping fuel, like Lyra and Sweetie Drops, Rarity and Spike, or Twilight and Tempest. It’s how things go, and the opposite is true. “Spike will grow out of his crush on Rarity.” “EQG isn’t canon, so Twi and Flash never happened.” You get the idea.

That’s the only good reason for EQG not to be canon, imo.

LyraBon is a special case. It’s so painfully obvious at this point.

Those crackships made slightly more sense because of those reasons stated back, even if they’re shitty reasons. I didn’t say SweetieSpike was a bad ship, just pointing out I don’t recall any interactions between them and that they have less sense than some of the others, as there’s no real linking element between them (ex. music like OctVinyl), but you have to defend it for some reason, even though you have zero evidence of them being less crack than some of those others.  
If you wanted to show off 5 snippets of them “interacting” (which still makes it a crackship regardless), then I don’t understand why you didn’t present that when I first asked when it made more sense.

Funny enough, there interaction in SoL isn’t out of the ordinary in areas in the Middle East, where it’s common for same-sex friends to be that close, with no sexual/romantic implications at all.

It’s is an environment where characters are extremely touchy-feely, and interact on a daily basis with actions that would be consider intimate in our society.

But the animators are doing this on purpose, it’s not hard to tell.

I know they were teasing the shippers in SoL, but to act as if it can only be read as romantic and not them just being friends is annoying.

First, that’s the Middle East, you can argue that Equestria even has a different culture entirely than the ones in real life but majority of it is what people in North America are familiar with, meaning most of the culture shown in show is pertains closely to North American culture.  
Secondly, no one else in the show that are friends interact like that, LyraBon is special in terms of that if it was just a friendship (meaning they’re close-af for friends) or the other thing.  
They’re obviously pushing one thing more than the other, you can’t blame people for interpreting it that way.
