I could see the Japanese name for Sphinx playing a role if we were in Japan, but we’re in Egypt. Just doesn’t sound right to me.

I would wait at least until the show airs its last episode (and probably a bit after that) before considering fan names for these characters. You never know who will receive a canon name in a future episode or Q&A.
