Zephyr was intentionally annoying and unlikeable while Jar and Flash tried to go for the “Likeable goofball-Likeable prettyboy” and we all know how well that turned out.

No, Zephyr isn’t like that at all. Neither is Flash Sentry, despite the number of people who have reacted to him as though he is.
 
I actually think he has some depth to him. In fact in many ways he reminds me of Rainbow Dash. He, like she, is always trying to appear cool; always trying to sell himself as better than the average pony (Dash, of course, gets a pass because she actually is as awesome as she claims to be, but I digress). Yet underneath they both have an intense fear of failure and often suffer from self doubt, which in turns leads them to do stupid things (giving up for Zephyr, pushing herself harder and causing more mistakes for Dash).

Of course not. Granted, Zephyr WAS annoying, but he was tolerable at best. Jar Jar, on the other hand…

The difference between the two is that you’re not SUPPOSED to like Zephyr, while Jar Jar was meant to be the comic relief, but just came off as annoying.

I don’t think this series even has a Jar Jar Binks, thankfully.

IMHO, Jar Jar’s not annoying. Then again I first watched the Phantom Menace when I was 8. Zephyr only needed the right encouragement, maybe only after he hit rock bottom. I know he was inconsiderate to his parents but that’s no reason to hate him and “blow a valve in my engine” out of anger.

Didn’t i hear something like that this all was actually an act and Jar jar Binks is a powerful jedi? Since then, Jar Jar was so hated by the audience and this script was cancelled?  
Damn, that would have been a twist in the later movies lol

I never thought of that, but that’s a good comparison. That said, Zephyr Breeze most reminds me of Johnny Bravo.

A quite possible myth, though. He was actually a Sith, if Lucas hadn’t chicken out :O  
I wish Ridley Scott would have chicken out, instead he ruined the Space Jockey with his senile ideas :D
