It also gives her something to do once she is reformed, that way she won’t feel unappreciated by her subjects as Princess of the Night.

No she didn’t have to learn it, it could have just as easily been an ability she inherited from her relation to the moon and night. And in my opinion it works better as something that she can just do without having to explain it since this is a fantasy land and such things shouldn’t need to have an origin story.

I know that supposedly, some say she would have ponies liking her if she could do that before her banishment, but perhaps that’s overestimating ancient ponies’ level of comfort with such things.

She couldn’t have always known how to do it. She still had to earn her cutie mark and learn how to properly utilize her special talent just like any other pony. Contrary to popular belief, she’s not actually a goddess who automatically knows everything about managing the night.

I never meant to imply that she always knew how to interact with dreams, my point was simply that she does not need to learn it from others. Just having it be something only she can do and learned how to do by her own intelligence and abilities would work a lot better than having it be taught to her.
 
An explanation like this kinda ruins the whole wonder and intrigue such an ability possesses and reduces it to just another spell in a book or something like that.

Even if nopony explicitly taught her, she still had to get the idea from somewhere. Unless I misread something, by the looks of it the moon creatures don’t actually enter the dreamscape. They just influence it from outside. However, Luna/NMM could come up with the idea of physically entering the dream world from watching them work. This way, She still thought of it on her own and she’s still the only pony who can dream walk.

That’s a really cool observation regarding the dreamwalking. I wonder if we will get to see NMM try to enter dreams in this issue, or will she just create some nightmares in cauldrons like the Nyx are doing?

So Celestia saved the world by sending her sister to a place where she could cause even MORE harm than before?
 
At this point I’m starting to believe that the writers are deliberately writing stupid stories just for trolling’s sake.

So does Fleecs really improved and this is how his style is going to look in the future comics, or is just for Fiendship series and he will return to draw like crap?

I think they wrote the Celestia Micro and Spike/Celestia FF to get my guard down, to make me think “Wow, maybe these comic writers really got Celestia”. NOPE, They then proceed to fuck Celestia way harder than the show ever did, they wrote good comics just so that they could hurt me far harder.

Seriously, this Nightmare Moon story would have been less stupid if NMM had been entombed on the moon as the show bible said so, and only her mind or spirit had been haunting those dream critters to learn, corrupt and do whatever the rest of this comic is supposed to be about.
 
Or I don’t know, making this comic about the incident that led to Luna becoming NMM and finishing with her defeat and being sent to the moon instead of this. (I’m also fearing that Fleecs will try to once again shove his cloud gremlins into the story to see if they already are a meme.)

I kinda hate how the Moon is just like, a physical place now. I liked it better when it was ambiguous as to whether it was a giant space rock, or if it was something more metaphysical.
 
And seriously, Nightmare Moon was just stuck on the fucking moon? Like the little fucking prince? That’s so fucking retarded.

IT’S FUCKING AMAZING ISN’T IT? THE VILLAIN WHOM MOST PEOPLE THINK IS THE WORST VILLAIN IN THE SERIES HAS THE BEST COMIC IN THIS SERIES.

I mean, I think we can all discard the possibility of the Chrysalis comic being good. It’s fucking Katie Cook, she hasn’t written anything good in about a year.

I have a question about the Nightmare Moon preview, since I’m a little confused about some parts.
 
Does it explain why Nightmare Moon doesn’t try to fly off of the moon? I mean, it doesn’t look like she’s unconscious, physically sealed, or anything like that. I know she’s banished, but it doesn’t look like anything’s preventing her from flying back to Equestria.

I mean, if Celestia can use magic and a lasso to drag the Moon close to Equestria, Nightmare Moon should be able to physically reach Equestria no problem.

I will be more surprised if she didn’t wrote a story where one of her OCs steals all the spotlight for itself.

So do we ask Bobby to continue the Fiendship series by expanding on Sombra and Tirek? Or are we dropping it hard and are satisfied with FF and FiM series?

On Sombra? Definitly, they set up a good backstory for him, and a good hook for future stories.
 
On Tirek? Not so much, his issue showed ambition but it came short in terms of characterization.

But we kind of know most about Sombra and how did he end up. Tirek however need more development. I would like to know more about him, Scorpan and their parents and how Gargoyles formed an alliance with Centaurs. Also what Discord was doing in their lands (Is Discord also from the Bad Lands?)

I try not to judge the comics before I read them fully but this preview immediately sets off alarms. Verbatim from the first episode, Nightmare Moon was “banished permanently in the moon,” which I always took to mean that Nightmare Moon was not literally banished to the inside of the moon but had her essence somehow bound to the moon and the mare in the moon was the sign of that seal. I admit that is just my interpretation but it makes sense doesn’t it?
 
Nightmare Moon just happens to stumble across a castle of Care Bear rejects who just happen to be the creators of all dreams for ponies and they teach her dream manipulation? I am not looking forward to this issue.

Do they only make dreams for ponies because ponies are special, because that’s what their kingdom is specifically assigned to do, or because ponies is being used as shorthand for every species because they’re talking to a pony?
