IDW Comics - Story Discussion (Spoilers)

Given that the this comic focused on the main character trying to pice together a group of heroes (which seems to be the Pillars of Old Equestria) to stop the Dazzlings and given that it was confirmed some time ago that at least two issues counting this one are going to be focused on how the Pillars got together, I think it’s a given that they’re going to show up in at least the next issue.

Wait, I thought issue 7 of LOM was going to be the last one for this mini-series…

It’s confirmed to go as far as issue 10, so far (Equestria Daily link).
 
The impression I’m getting so far from the blurbs is that the first six issues are about introducing the individual characters, and the rest are about how they banded together and the events leading up to the finale.

Only up to 12 for now, though I can’t really imagine what it will be replaced with. Maybe some S8 idea?

I don’t get the show until about six months after release, so I’ve no idea what you’re moaning about.

I’m seconding Philweasel on this one. I finished reading the last issue that’s gonna be released before the finale airs, and the only thing I got out of it is that the Dazzlings are going to feature in some capacity in some unspecified point of the story – and even then the only reason I know that for sure is because of people blabbing about the leaks. If I hadn’t known that to begin with, I would have assumed the Dazzlings were going to be comic-only, because there’s nothing in the episode blurbs to suggest there’s a place to cram them in.
 
So far, the comic has literally only finished setting up the events that are going to lead to the Pillars joining up. It’s gonna take until next month’s issue at least for them to be all in one place at the same time, and the comic won’t actually get into the actual backstory of the finale until the December issue comes out.

Us Latinamericans get the dubbed episodes not long after the english episodes are out. But there’s no official comic distribution here, so any episodes that depend of the comic for expansion and a better explanation will be lost on us.  
Hell, that’s what happened to the movie as we didn’t got the comic prequels.

Then pirate it. I’m sure Hasbro doesn’t give a crap if you can’t physically buy the issues.
 
I do the opposite actually, since the comics release simultaneously, and the show doesn’t.

I mean the real target audience (little girls) missing out complementary material that makes the TV series and movie easier to understand.  
The movie itself isn’t doing well in my country, probably because you NEED to read the prequel comic in order to get a better understanding about the characters and things the movie says nothing about, but as I said, the comic isn’t available here and isn’t as if a 6-year old little girl is going to pirate it. That’s what I mean.

The book ‘stormy road’ delivered all the relevant backstory for the movie.
 
And none of this is necessary, it’s just supplementary information for the hardcore fans who want some of the shows backstory expanded beyond the necessary exposition.

Is it bad to say I forgot all about the upcoming issue 60 till I saw the 3 page preview?

So looking back, Shadowlock was kinda useless.

Pretty much, an entirely silly concept given dark overtones with a tie-in to the doomed Nightmare Forces “lore”, it was bound to fail.
 
Should’ve embraced the silliness of it more, or/and have Price as the artist for an instant trip into goofy territory.
