Starlight is being heavily shoehorned into FiM, and her appearance in EG (with a “she saves everyone” plot at that) is more fuel for the theory that she’s being set up to take over as the main character. Seasons six, seven and the movie are probably transition periods.

After seeing three movies of Sunset Shimmer saving the day, it’s nice that they’re mixing things up by having Sunset Shimmer having to be saved. I wonder if Starlight Glimmer will get some assistance?

And Starlight saving the day is not new in any sense.
 
I won’t dignify that last question with a response.

Comments about how i’m both skeptic and optimistic about this special and waiting until the special airs to get my full opinion. What happens?
 
A comment saying “Oh you come across a Starlight apologist and a Starlight fanboy” I Don’t know what i did wrong to have this person assume things about me. Also i hate the word fanboy. Don’t know what the hell i did to be insulted. And you know something, hoping the special doesn’t end up being just a Starlight effort. A team effort would be much better.
 
 
But i’m not going to openly assume things about this person. Because i don’t want to stoop to their level.

I have no problem with Starlight Glimmer.

I don’t have a problem with her either, but you’d think by now they’d do something more interesting than “Oh no! Everyone else including strong characters are captured and it’s up to Starlight to save the day! Uh oh! Starlight’s not confident! Oh wait, she got encouragement! Everything’s okay now.”

Sunset gets to go back home for less than ten minutes. No meeting with Celestia, seeing her family, nothing. Then she grabs one of the most polarizing characters currently and it’s up for that character to save the day all by herself because everyone else HAD to be trapped.
 
Man Sunset probably won’t even get to be a pony again after this.

Honestly i’m not in the mood to be nice with the people who insult you for liking Glimmer. After what happened to me earlier, If this shits going to keep going where i got morons assuming that i’m a fanboy because i’m optomistic and both skeptic about this special,, you know something. Go ahead and have a Starlight save the and put Sunset on the sidelines. I’ll be more than happy if they do that.

Honestly that bit was probably dead in the water after Friendship Games.It’s pretty obvious Sunset caring about Equestria is just something they dropped especially after Friendship Games. I mean the whole reason of her visiting in this special is just to get paper. It isn’t about meeting Twilight or anyone else.
