Turning off automatic notifications?

I feel super bad asking this since it’s a really cool feature, but is there a way to turn this off? It only works sometimes on my computer (very likely because my computer is kind of crappy) and it is confusing the hell out of me now.
 
Like, is there a thing I could block with uBlock or something to prevent it, like I did on a different site to turn off a feature?

What is the issue you are seeing, exactly?

Sometimes it works, like the number will stay synced on all tabs, and sometimes it just doesn’t.

Huh. I haven’t seen that, but I’ve not been looking at it very carefully - I’m going to start paying more attention, to see if I can catch that happening, too.

Hmm, I designed the script so that in case of failure, it would fall back to the behaviour from before the change. That is, to rely on data fetched from the server every ten minutes separately in each tab that is currently visible.
 
This means that with the old script, tabs were already bound to be out of sync (and we occasionally had people comment that the counter never seemed to decrement, for example). Of course, there could be a bug that prevents it from working that way under special circumstances (I see that you are using an old version of Firefox).
 
I will make sure to look into it, but are you sure that there has been a change to the behaviour you used to see?

The only actual change has been from the way it used to be (tabs only updated when you refreshed them) to the way it is now (the number may or may not change on all tabs when you load or refresh one).
 
A buddy of mine in IRC found a way to turn it off though, if “changing the class name with a script” means anything to you :P

Good to hear. I’ve tested the script in the same Firefox version you are using and it still seems to be working, so I suppose it could come down to something unique with your computer/configuration.
