The little info bar above thumbnails

The little information bars above each picture thumbnail seem to have become ‘unstuck’ only appearing when the thumbnail itself is hovered over. In addition, there is no discernable way to disable this and have the info bars always be visible. This is obviously very annoying and I would ask when this bug will be rectified.

Are you using small thumbnails?
 
If so, it’s to do with ongoing development of things.
 
If not, it’s a bug and we’ll look into it.

Am i to assume there will an option to turn this off implemented at some point?

I second the motion of making this feature optional. It makes the small thumbnail mode a pain to use on mobile browsers as you can’t really hover over things with a touch screen.

Yes, it has been noted that this is kind of not great; it’s part of a WiP for another feature and not final.

Mobile devices should be supported in the current version but due to a bug, they’re not. Either way it’s all changing soon. My fault - shouldn’t have deployed it in this state but needed feedback on something that required it.

I hope we can keep it as an option : ) I like it!

As ever, the idea is to improve things, not break them :) I basically wanted to display more image - historically small image previews have been neglected because I didn’t use them, and I’ve not gone and revisited that bit of the site design in a long while. We’ll improve it and figure it out, just perhaps not all in one hit. K_A’s done some great work on them too.
