Oops. Should be fixed now.

So does anyone know what’s wrong with the fetch link button for uploading images? I’ve been receiving lower images upon upload than the one in source.

I recall being able to set a minimum score sitewide. I can’t seem to find that setting anymore. Am I going crazy?

That feature was removed because people kept setting it not knowing what it was, and then couldn’t figure out why a ton of images disappeared. And then when when they asked about it, the staff couldn’t help them because the feature was so old that no one ever remembered it existed, and only like three people on staff could even see if it was enabled or not for an account.
 
Overall, it was a huge pain in the ass and so few people intentionally used it that we got rid of it.
 
If you’d like to have a minimum score, just add “score.lt:0” to your complex filters, and that will achieve the same effect.

Dang, I suppose I was one of the few that used it intentionally. Having to always search with a min score tag is gonna be annoying now- oh well.

You can add it to any filter, including a copy of ‘Everything’. No need to add it to searches.

So yeah, the fetch link button isn’t working for me anymore. This happening to anyone else?

DA occasionally makes changes to its site code without bothering to check first to see if it will disrupt major site functionality, and because they’re so heavily invested in ignoring any and all feedback, it takes them a while to notice that half their userbase are pounding on the door telling them something is broken. It’s not always their fault; quite often this sort of thing coincides with Firefox or Chrome (or Tumblr) also having just changed something significant, so anyone accessing DA through them gets stuck with the results.

Like, for example, Chrome seems to have done something that makes Wikia links containing escape sequences close the frame they’re opened.
 
It’s a developer thing in general. Whatever the PPM2 in Gmod does to apply its textures no longer works on some video cards, it seems…

Can confirm; even when the download button in the side bar gives a higher resolution, uploading using the fetch button may result in a lower resolution.

Is the Featured Image down? It’s not showing up for me.

That means you’re filtering one of the tags, which we do to avoid the constant drama of “why am I seeing a spoiler image? How dare you feature something I don’t like!”.

Turns out someone changed the rating on the featured image. They don’t like swimsuits or something like that.

Someone changed the rating tags on it, causing it to be blocked by a ton of filters (including “default”). It’s been corrected now.

Perhaps it would be a good idea to put a tag freeze on things going to the featured image box?

Often people helpfully add tags shortly after images are featured. That said, also I often see very minor tagwarring over ship tags. I did lock the tags right now since it’s unlikely any other tags will need to be added by people.

Looking at the tags on this one since featured, there was only one significant tag added by a non-staff member after it featured, and a pile of mistagging.
 
Shame there’s not a “moderated tags” mode, where tags can be added/removed, but the changes need a moderator to approve before they’re applied. Kinda niche feature though.

There are mod tag changes, which you’re supposed to ask about before touching. But there’s nothing enforcing it, which is kinda dumb.

We enforce it. There’s just no SkyNet monitoring tag changes looking for violators though.
 
That would be cool, but it seems unnecessary. People usually respect that.
