Previous search queries - Gone

DragonLongRock

I was browsing through some images on here and I usually have previous things I’ve searched for if I were to press down on the arrow key. However, now it’s gone. So if I were to enter “questionable”, it would usually come up with some of the other things that I’d search along with it, for example, “questionable, scootaloo”. It doesn’t seem to do that and I don’t know how, or why, it’s done it. Does anyone have any idea?

By the way, I use Google Chrome on a Windows 8 laptop. I’m also pretty adamant I didn’t hit anything to delete the previous search history thing.

To make a long explanation short:

Your browser remembers the value of search queries based on the name we give the searchbox element. Before today, it was given the name sbq; today we renamed it to q and removed all instances of sbq. That is why your previous queries are missing.

We renamed sbq to q because it’s shorter and more concise and allows for less code duplication on our part for handling it.

Ah, righto. I just find it strange that they were there when I loaded the site up, then about 20-30 minutes later, they were gone. I guess it hadn’t picked it up straight away. Oh well! Thank you for that!

That brings up another question: aside from bookmarking the resulting URL, is there any way to save search queries on here? I occasionally like to check a more complex tag search, to see if there’s new stuff, but it’s not the kind of thing I’d fill my watchlist with.

Is there any Firefox addon that limits autocompletion to one group of domains? My derpi searches show up in all other sites, where it’s completely useless and vice versa.
