Pin Request

Hello admins…
 
I have come here for a special request from me, and the time wasting users.
 
We want out time wasting thread pinned on the general discussion section of the fourms.
 
The idea was thrown in by And Brother I Hurt People, he wondered why we weren’t pinned.
 
This lead to a discussion which lead to this conclusion…
 
We must contact the admins and get our thread pinned, though, it WILL need repinning due to the post limit (Unless you guys wanna make the exception.).
 
So, in the end… We want the time wasting thread pinned up. It is one of the most active threads, and it went through 1 thread within 3 years.

The idea of having a thread pinned is so it stays up all the time, it having activity or not.
 
The Time Wasting Thread is quite active as it is, and personally i dont see the need to have it pinned.

Personally I think there are some threads in this section that should probably be stickied that aren’t, such as the DB WORKSHOP: Tag discussion thread.

This is a strong and powerful thread, it can die at anytime, pinning it will increase the life expectancy of the thread itself.

i don’t really foresee the thread just dying out  
unless something happens like some massive (even more massive than ordinary) drama breaks out and force the mods to shut down the thread entirely, in which case making it more prominent would probably only increase the chances of that  
or maybe i’m just being an idiot

The thread itself should just be pinned, just to keep activity up.

I was the first to mention this, so let me explain.
 
There is certainly no shortage of activity on the thread. That is not the reason why it should be pinned (I mean, just because something is pinned doesn’t mean that it will be bustling 24/7, but I digress).
 
The entire point of General Discussion is to, well, have a general discussion. And the Time Wasting Thread is the epitome of just that. “This forum is for discussing practically anything on the site or off it, so long as it doesn’t belong in one of the other forums”? Replace forum with “thread” and you have a pretty tight idea of what our thread is all about. Additionally, it can serve as a pretty great entry point into the forum itself. We don’t bite.
 
TL;DR, Time Wasting embodies everything that General Discussion is and that’s why a pin makes sense.

Hello! Would it be okay for me to ask to pin these two threads in the Art Chat?

[NSFW] Artist’s Group Chat - Draw The Curtains Edition
 
My reasoning being is we’re trying to set up a haven and group discussion for members of the community who are artists, so we can share ideas and get our artwork more attention and exposure on the site. If the threads were stickied, I think they’d look more “official”, that is artists would feel the two threads had official backing from the site and would be more inclined to join in. Also, since Art Chat has so very few pinned threads (three out of four relate specifically to meta information), it couldn’t hurt to add two more to the four we already have even if it may seem pointless or unnecessary.

I am not really against this idea. if another mod is ok with it, then go ahead and pin it.

As the one who started the safe thread, I’d be all for these threads to get more attention.
 
Hoping more artists will join in, so we can throw ideas around, (which would just mean more art here), and to draw attention to stuff we’ve uploaded, (a lot of my sketches seem to fly off the front page, meaning they’re not getting the views).

Request to pin this thread so that people can request thread pinning under the rule that they give a VERY good reason why. Or, not pin this thread, and make one that states these rules.
