[update] I think I got them all – if you run into another one like that, just make a report (report yourself if you don’t have any other object to click on) with a reason of "Other" and describe the problem like you did this time, and we’ll reset it.

I looked at undeleting all the ones that were uploaded before, but most of them were by ban evaders and BPs, and there were some "Rule #1" arguments on their comments, so having new uploads would be preferable.

I have a few questions. How many screencaps should a person post at a time? Also, how long you think it would be good for a "cool down" period to wait before uploading more again?

I don’t want to spam or get in the way or anything like that with my uploads so I figured I should ask first and get an extra opinion or two from the mods just to be sure that I don’t go too overboard. I have a lot of screencaps and they’re pretty good quality, so I wanted to upload as much of them as I can but without getting the way of the lovely are that comes in here.

Normal uploads as a whole proceed at a rate of about 1 per 2-3 minutes right now. Aim for half that or lower, so 1 in every 6 minutes at most.

Clips from the movie are allowed now, under the same guidelines as for episodes.

Thank you for mentioning that here. I almost thought they weren’t allowed still so some people might think the same.

Well it’s almost year after public theatrical release.
Movie was already released in many countries digitally on DVDs/Blu-Rays/VODs, aired in TV in some places ect.
Everything is quite understandable.

Is there any maximum video length for 1 clip/scene for any mlp episode or movie.

From Rule #1

Do not upload significant portions of official content that hasn’t been freely released (promotional material etc. counts as freely released), such as a full page of a comic/book, more than 30 seconds of official video, or more than 10 seconds of official audio or copyrighted music. This applies to single uploads and to splitting contiguous portions across uploads.

This one is probably a good example of a clip with sound that is not from an advertisement that is ok:



But it’s right up against the edge.

As I’ve tried to explain in my PM to you, some of your other recent uploads were too long.

I must misread the Rule #1, I thought less than 30 seconds of video with sound it’s okay but now I have learn my lesson.

So far we’ve had to delete 8 of your uploads for Rule #1 violations due to the length of the clips, some of which had either entire scenes in them, or included scenes edited back together, and many of your remaining images on the site have 11 seconds of audio which puts them arguably over the line. If you don’t stop uploading clips that break our rules we are going to eventually start giving you bans. So – Rather than continuing to talk about this here in public, please reply to the PM I sent you.

Less 30 second no sound video is okay
Less 10 second video with sound is okay.

Those are the absolute minimum criteria. Also please don’t try to upload every frame from individual scenes, or clip back together entire arcs from individual shows – even if they end up less than 30 seconds without sounds they’re not permitted. We have no intention of hosting entire shows as a series of separate clips.

How long do you think until the MLP FiM movie comes to DVD and Blu Ray?
