Filly Funtasia Images: Pony Related or not?

Alright then if that’s the case why don’t you delete all the Them’s Fighting herds images?  
They have absolutely nothing to do with pony.  
And don’t @ me with that asinine argument that just because it USED to be a pony related game it belongs here.  
Oh right, because it’s “community related” so it gets a pass. Well, isn’t Filly “community related” as well? The same people who enjoy MLP are the ones watching and making fanart of FF, so why can’t we be “community related” as well?

Filly Funtasia is not the same case as TFH at all. It’d be more like if we allowed Monster High or The Last Unicorn on here in spades just because people who like MLP sometimes like them too.
 
TFH does get a pass because it was pony related originally and has had involvement from people who did work on FiM, it’s derived from MLP in multiple ways.
 
FF is no more pony related than any other colorful horse related property, which isn’t exclusively a trait of MLP.

i honestly can’t speak for decisions made by the mod team a solid two years before i was part of the mod team, so i won’t attempt to outside of saying that i do agree with hosting them’s fighting herds and not hosting filly funtasia. other than that very solid reasoning’s been given in this thread for not hosting it, including inability on our part to effectively do so, lack of interest from both the mod team and the user base, and an overabundance of troll/shitposts and/or generic screencaps that could honestly be hosted anywhere.
 
you’re more than welcome to make a “filly funtasia fan thread” in generals and hotlink images you’ve uploaded to imgur. that’s actually been done to great success here, here, and here just to name a few. i’m even going out of my way to be as slow as possible with getting this purge on the road so people can save the images they want.

I’d argue the furry inage is more pony related, as it’s actually MLP and not some random cartoon that so happens to have colorful equines in it, which is closer to bootleg territory.

So, you’re saying that The Orville is a Star Trek bootleg? Just because something is inspired by something else, and takes a new direction, doesn’t make it a bootleg…  
In fact, the Filly toy line actually predates G4 by four years.

Ico, The Last Unicorn, TFH, random-Chinese-bootlegs are fine - and have been on the site for years with 0 problems.  
Yet somehow FF isn’t fine.  
The “justification” posted up to now are pretty weak and don’t actually justify the series been treated differently than those mentioned above. If a majority of admins personally hate FF and don’t want to see it just say so, it’s 2019 : you are allowed to hate stuff ffs - no need to make up stuff.

Sorry, but those all sound like nitpicky excuses rather than actual reasons to ban it. How will people know who a character is? They’ll know because that’s how the uploader would tag the image, obviously. And who is even trying to tag certain FF episode names in images? It sounds like you are trying to invent a problem that doesn’t exist.
 
Nobody is asking for this to be put on par with MLP images with its own spoiler tags and the like. If someone asks whether or not the characters will get official tags like MLP ones just tell them “no,” just like with every other character from every non-pony franchise that shows up on this site.
 
And there is one more important thing to consider about this. The first season will be over in a month, and given that it was stuck in development hell for half a decade and was a struggle just to get this released, it’s highly unlikely there will be a second season. That means the show is ending in a month from now and images will dry up quickly after that. You seem to be concerned that this will be an ongoing thing, when in fact it is actually going to be very short lived. In other words, Filly is not going to compete with Pony on this site. It will be a drop in the bucket that will be forgotten quickly by all but a small group of people who actually enjoy the show and would appreciate a place to host its few images, and since the rather small and unremarkable Filly fandom arose primarily from this one I think a case could be made to allow it.

Sorry, my mistake. My point was actually that I suspect most people feel the exact same way and there really isn’t any need to try to ban it.

So you consider a show based off a toyline that predates G4 a ripoff? Just because it’s a show with colorful talking horses, it isn’t automatically a ripoff. It also went in a completely different direction than FiM.

Citation needed. There’s a lot of fandom overlap with Pokemon and Sonic and Furries too but those things aren’t allowed as uploads beyond crossovers and ponifications. We have threads for other properties that people enjoy and those work out perfectly fine for things. Should be the same here.

I already gave some reasons, but I’ll give you another, and that’s the fact that the filly fandom has almost 100% crossover with the pony fandom. Just about everyplace the show is discussed is some kind of pony site, with the noticeable exception of the shows main fansite, Funtasia Daily (do you think there is any chance that the guy who named that isn’t into MLP?) This makes it very different from the art of other shows someone mentioned like Pokemon. Those shows have their own unique fanbases. The Filly fanbase is almost exclusively made up of people who were into MLP first, and the people drawing Filly art are almost exclusively pony artists.
 
You may not be one of those people who are interested in it, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t people who are and would like to see the show represented. Considering how severe the overlap is between Filly and MLP, that really does make this an ideal place to post and discuss art for the show. It is in no way an undue burdon on Derpibooru, and it would make many others happy.
 
And again, the amount of Filly related art is miniscule. It is literally something that shouldn’t bother anyone unless they want to be bothered by it, but to a select number of people it would be greatly appreciated.
