Couple weeks, probably. It’s going to require downtime first, though, which may potentially be several hours. I need to fix a bunch of index definitions all at once and I’m just going to do a full rebuild.

Does full rebuild also mean all those (0) and negative use count tags will disappear, again?
 
Because if it does, then even a day of downtime will be worth it.

While we’re at it, can we also regenerate hashes for images that have incorrect hash values so that API-returned hash actually matches the full versions’s content. I think our current system takes the hash of the original upload and not the optimized upload.

Is it possible for a userscript (since you seem hellbent on keeping it above tags in mainline) to move tag edit button back down? It’s mismatching in location with “save” button and its exceptionally annoying.

It’s possible and really easy to do, but perspectively you better to get used to it, because source and tag edition gonna be separate.

I don’t care about them being separate, and them being separate does not require “edit tags” to be above tag field, only that they and source area are separated.
 
P.S. You know what would be absolutely hilarious? If y’all, a year or two down the line, go “this change did not improve code-handling in any way and didn’t help fix any bugs”, like what happened with the UI rewrite, and, with significantly shorter time-gap, touching the image bar.

Agreed, this is needed. Just something to undo yet another unnecessary UI change.

I’d say that there’s a fair chance of this happening. One can only hope that all these recent button changes are undone by someone like Byte[] again, like with the metabar.

Accidunkally clicking on the [Source:] button also opens the tag edit field and even puts the cursor in the fancy tag entry box, y’all.

“Under tag field” is not “Back down”, it were under source before. If we put it under source, then it will be a mess.  
It won’t be reversed, next stage will be making tag and source edition separately, which includes deep code changes as well.  
I personally don’t really like these UI changes too, but they just must be made.

I have a few:  

Any possibility of having the site’s adverts follow along something akin to filters? It’s not that I don’t want to ever see ads, or anything, it’s just that I personally don’t want to see ads for something like ”The Full Package”, that cock/ball worship one.
 
Like, maybe the ads have a list of keywords (tags, whatever), and users can have a setting to blacklist certain keywords. If I remember correctly, something similar is done depending on whether a user is logged in, so that there aren’t always NSFW ads going.

Can we get previous_ids array in derpibooru.org/{id}.json files?  
Updated pics use newer id and that messes with my local db.

Is there any consideration of limiting uploads per user in a certain amount of time? I didn’t see it on the first page with ctrl+f. Also don’t know if correct thread since I’m not good at this.
