The site goes by what the image shows, not by what canon or some text somewhere says. I don’t think anyone would look at that image and think “she’s a minor”, just as they wouldn’t look at it and say “she’s half horse, one fourth lion, one fourth eagle, and can shapeshift into a horse mermaid”.

Any chance of adding the image #ID into each image file as metadata? Or have a search for images based off hashes of any of their file-types?
 
Reason I ask is that I run an image-sourcing bot on Discord, and while URLs and dragged-and-dropped files that have the full quality file are fine and easy to get sources of, all too often people will just drag and drop a “large.png” file into the chat.
 
It would be nice if there was some way searching for such files that wasn’t people messaging me, and me doing a reverse image search. >.>

I’m pretty sure Discord strips metadata too, unfortunately. I took a picture (left), sent it to a friend on Discord, and downloaded it from Discord (right). Notice the difference?

But yeah, I can see that being a problem for the other idea, too, since stripping that would change the hash of the image too.
 
EDIT: seems to be XMP data isn’t stripped

A more useful solution to the large.png-issue would be to actually include the ID in the name, and serve them as 1825178_large.png (or even 1825178_large_thumbnail.png to make it clear that it’s not the full res) going forward. A redirect should be put in place for the links using the earlier paths/names to continue working, though.

That would be great, too. Reversable naming schemes make sites much easier to work with in that regard.

Oh hey, if this ever happens, could a similar thing also be done to the search field?
 
There’s been a number of times I’ve tried to change a previous search, only to move the mouse over a different dropdown (because it’s still there due to the changes being similar enough to another previous search), have all changes undone, or not be able to enter anything new into the field because my mouse is accidentally hovering over a dropdown.

I’d suggested in the past a way for users to not allow BPs to comment on their stuff, which you guys disagreed with.

How about a block button on comments? And I’m not just talking about making it so they can’t comment. I’d like to see one where the people you block can no longer see your work. I spent several years working independently on a massive game that I’d intended on releasing to the public for free. Ever since the day I made the mistake of announcing it I’ve gotten countless BPs rushing me and treating me like crap. Most of them aren’t breaking any rules by any means. They’re just pricks.
 
It’s dragged me down and sucked out my motivation to complete this game. It makes it hard to want to work on the game knowing that the very people throwing rocks at me would eventually get the game anyways.
 
Nothing would motivate me more than knowing that I could put out a game that would make a lot of people happy while the people who’s sole goal in life is to make everyone around them miserable just get a door slammed in their face.
 
I agree with the ideal that these people by no means deserve to be banned or anything like that. Artists being able to shut them out if they piss them off however seems like fitting justice to me. I don’t know much about building a site and how difficult something like this would be, but I think it would be a really good feature and hope you guys consider it.

Another nice feature to have would be a search string or even a rss/atom feed for the featured image.
 
Unless I’m missing something, there doesn’t seem to be any listed way to discover that (if there is, forgive me for saying, but it’d be nice if it was in the API docs).

If some internet trolls who bash at your game make you lose motivation, then you’re motivating yourself with the wrong thing. You’re making a game, even if only a single person likes it, it’s already worth it. That single person should be you! You should like what you create and be the first person to enjoy it, and just work on it because it’s fun, challenging, or plain curious to work on.

Id like to suggest putting in a button to see our past reported posts, images, ETC instead of having to file a report to be brought into the menu to veiw them.

I dont know if this ever got answered or not but what would be the consensus on a multi-person PM. Like 3-4 person PM’s.

Is there a way to make the scraper grab full embedded links on DA descriptions?

That would require a massive re-structuring of the PM system due to how it works.

Hm. I know it would be nice to have, many of my friends like the idea but an rp in the rp section is open to public eyes. PM is just us. If there were a way to do it with more than just 2 privately it would be fairly neat. Saves the rp section from un-needed threads that congest the front page.
 
If it could be done a different way is it possible? If not ill happily drop the subject.
 
I only ask because having an open link given to staff will let them veiw a conversation they arent part of if needed.
