Feature suggestions and discussion [READ THE FIRST POST]

Here is a suggestion that’ll probably never get approved: multiple images in 1 submission, which is something that Inkbunny has right now. Thoughts?

What would be the point? It doesn’t seem to solve any problem to a degree that would justify the admin effort of implementation.

Collections have been discussed on and off as a possible way to address some user concerns about the upload of multiple variants of an image with tiny changes. For the moment, most of the functionality users expect from collections can be gained using galleries, but it’s certainly a feature we’ve considered. Watch this space is all I can say.
 

The ability to embed youtube videos. Please.

Or do you mean an in-frame video? If that’s what you mean, then … hrm … uhm … that would mean allowing HTML in posts, and that just seems like a whole can of worms.

Embedding videos does not cause lag. At most in takes an extra second to load.

Some people use mobile, and some people will embed a dozen videos, and some people don’t care to see your stupid reaction video in a comment section. :^]

Nobody embeds a dozen videos. You’re not very likely to see more than 1 embedded video per topic page; unless the topic is solely about youtube videos.
 
I’ve used mobile phones to watch embedded videos, the lag is barely noticeable; and only really there due to hardware limitations, that shouldn’t be an excuse to not allow embedding altogether. It certainly doesn’t lag so much that it becomes unusable.
 
It’s more convenient to watch a video inside a post then it is to have a whole new tab open. Plus, embedded youtube videos feature a link where you can watch it in a separate tab if you want to.

What do you see as the goal or benefit of embedding videos in comments on images or posts on the forum, rather than linking to them?

Oh my Celestia, right? The first thing we’d see would be a dozen autoplaying embedded videos. I remember when 4Chan briefly allowed that - it was … noisy. Very very very noisy.
 
Every page filled with multiple concurrently playing loops.
 
It would be like using DeviantArt without ad blockers.

Well you could always disable autoplaying..somehow. sigh anyway, just a thought. It seems to work fine for other forums.

Friendly reminder that autoplaying videos and music are the Devil’s arse-trumpet and only sociopathic scumbags ever use them anywhere for any reason.

Yes that can be a bit annoying, though I’m sure there’s a way to force the disabling of autoplaying embedded videos.

I’m in favor of forcing the disabling of the people who embed them.
 
Like half of my custom adblocker filters are the result of methodically killing every gorram autoplay thing I find, even the current gen of the damned things that require killing ten or twelve layers of overlapping components.

Well yes there’s that, but I’m talking about server-side disabling of autoplay. Not having to try to disable it manually client-side.

If you’re on chrome, try this extension. Worked a treat for me. The browser itself is also getting the ability to block autoplay, though how effective it will be remains to be seen.

There’s space for 6 pictures on profile page.

Go to your settings, click on “display” and change the number of images displayed per page.

Huh, so it is.

Every now and then I have to search through all of my images and look at each of their individual “tag changes” pages. I do this because every so often, someone adds some tag that is untrue about the image, or removes a tag that is true about the image.
 
I was wondering if there could ever be a way to get notifications about tag changes on your uploaded images? It’d be really nice, because then I wouldn’t find out 3 months late that one of my drawings was tagged as rape when it wasn’t, or have to go through the tedious process of checking every single image’s taglist.

Along those lines, um, _{I’d kind of like to be able to be notified when my art gets faved/upvoted. I completely understand if that’s way too much extra data for the site but I live for feedback and very little of it tends to be comments.}
