Small request, would it be possible to make it so that the space around the adds is always at full size? it’s always a bother when it suddenly bumps the screen around and makes you missclick,
@Thanotos Omega
I recently started working on changes that will include this (along with placing it in a sandboxed iframe, for potential security and performance benefits), but I currently have very little time to dedicate to Derpibooru development. Having said that, I think you can expect it to be implemented within a month.
Perhaps /activity could show the sidebar-type homepage for those of us who don’t normally have it enabled for when we want to see the featured image without having to toggle settings or searching for it under the tag changes?
@Background Pony #5B7B
Really, I think that heading should be underneath the image and use a much more minimalistic styling, it’s wasting space when it has no point to anyone who isn’t seeing it for the first time. As for it being a link, the image itself is a link.
It’s only the way it is now for some lining up with the main image list, which in hindsight, was probably something else to toss when freeing up its vertical space.
@Keith Mowz
I’m not even sure what the point of /activity is currently.
@Thanotos Omega
Oh yes, it’s always suggested to have a pre-loaded fixed size of all elements before they’re loaded. This should be applied to the actual images too (if that isn’t too hard to implement).
@The Smiling Pony
I mean literally this page, which is what you get when you just click “Activity” itself instead of the two things under it. As far as I can tell, it’s just the homepage, and I suspect that’s an oversight (will have to look at the code later).
@Princess Luna
Oh. That’s so people that have the the homepage as just /images/page/1 can still access it without having to change their user settings each time, no?
@TexasUberAlles
/activity and the homepage are the same. /images is different, but /activity (and thus the homepage) will look the same as /images if you have disabled the “Show sidebar and watched images” in your preferences. Try changing it and you should see the difference.
What we ought to be doing, as Keith Mowz suggested, is to ignore the “Show sidebar and watched images” preference on /activity so that users who have disabled it for the homepage still can access the info through /activity.
@Liggliluff
I saw that he suggested that. I referenced it in my post.
I might as well take the opportunity to mention that we as staff are aware of many things that needs doing across the site, and regularly discuss solutions ourselves. When it comes to actually implementing changes though, there are simply too few developers with enough time to spare.
@DoublePipe
Adding information to the first post is also a great way for you to keep track of what needs to be done. It also helps users to not suggest something you’re planning on doing.
Not sure if this has been brought up or thought of but what about a private group message? We have two person messaging but thats it, and forums cant be privatized. I propose this as an idea so that you can have at least 4-5 people in a private message area only those 4-5 can see.
