I feel the need to comment that while I, personally, can access this text on badges appearing in comments and forum posts, I cannot access it on the user’s profile page. Could this be a bug that should go in the report bugs forum?

Something I’ve been wondering lately is how feasible it would be to implement an automatic tag spellchecker/corrector? For example, if you type “oc onyl” and press Save, it gets corrected to “oc only” before any implications and aliases are processed. I recall seeing some tags having aliases for common spelling mistakes, but most of them don’t. And I feel aliases aren’t the right way for fixing spelling mistakes. I think “oc only” and all of it’s variations would be the #1 target for this feature. Another would be all the variations of “tongue out” (I just nuked one of them moments ago).

I wonder if just asking for confirmation when submitting a nonexistent tag would do the trick, “are you sure you want to create ‘oc onyl’?”
 
It may not help with existing spelling mistakes, but will most likely prevent new variations from popping up. It also seems easier to do for the devs, although I shouldn’t be speaking for them.

For the most common misspellings an alias is sufficient in my opinion. Making a predictive spell checker like that would not be easy.

They didn’t mean spell checker, merely a warning like “hey, this tag has 0 images in it, are you sure you want to create it”

Not predictive. Just a list of common mispellings of tags that are corrected after you press “Save” in the tag editor, before anything else is done. You add a “oc onyl” tag, hit Save and the image is now tagged “oc only”, not “oc onyl”. You might not even notice you spelled it wrongly.

This confirmation is something I’ve wanted for years. It still lets you create new tags for new characters and locations, but it would make you check the tags first. Would reduce first-time uploaders’ mistakes.

Well, there are aliases after all. Thought, it would be a heck a of job creating all those for the common typos someone might make. And we all know how annoying autocorrection can be…

Making this as confirmation will be pretty hard to realize, but doing simple notification is possible and not really hard to implement. There is an unofficial thing which does somewhere about what you want (but only in “Upload page”, it would take too much place in plain tag editor and there is some nuances I don’t want to bother with).  
 
Maybe something even possible to do inside autocompletion system (don’t include tags with 0 or less images and ask (maybe even via browser alert) if you want to write something manually).

Is there a way to make it so that you can see the exact date/time of a comment/post/PM/anything that has a timestamp on it without having scroll over it? If not, then there definitely needs to be one! Reason: On mobil devices, you can’t scroll over such a thing. Secondly, I can’t take a screenshot of such a timestamp, even on the computer, and it makes it harder when I need it!

The optimal site experience is that on a proper browser; minor QoL features are not something I’d want devs investing time in for mobile browsers.

On the topic of the tag box, an option checkbox to sort it strictly alphabetically would be my preference, rather than have categorized tags first.

So Joey said personal badges would show up in the line first, but in reality, friendly griffon and from the night have priority? is that a mistake or?

Duck badge should have highest priority IMO, since it’s like a caution that op is a shithead and all :P

Users should get multiple duck badges for every major count of shit posting…

You know full well that badge is not given as a badge of honor, no matter how desperately some want to wear them as such. Only a select few have more than one.

The default set for “high prio” badges was based off the “unlisted” badges; ie. the ones that are given out so rarely they’re not in the mod tool dropdown to not clutter it up with 60 or whatever patreon badges. I’ll untick that now.

Any chance we could get a setting to not allow BPs to comment on our stuff? I like reading comments from people, but I also deal with an absurd amount of samefagging and trolls, and quite frankly it’s driving me away every time I come back.

Unfortunately that is not something we’re looking at implementing, as privacy and anonymity are two things that we take extremely seriously, and giving people the ability to force others to post under their name goes against those beliefs.
 
If you feel that someone may be sockpuppeting using multiple BP names, or they’re harassing you, please report their comments and a site moderator will investigate it quickly. Neither behavior is tolerated on Derpibooru, and can result in a ban if someone is indeed doing that.

I’m not saying to force people out of anonymity. I’m saying they simply can’t comment on my things so long as they stay anonymous if I have that setting enabled. If they want to stay anonymous, nothing’s forcing them to comment.
 
I’d look at it like someone walking into a store. It’s dead of winter and someone’s wearing a ski mask as they come in. The store owner has the right to deny them access to the store. Sure, the customer might not be a problem, but some people who hide their face in stores are known to cause trouble. The customer has the option of taking off the ski mask or leaving.
 
But if that’s really too much, I am about to write a report on someone.
