Well, he raises a valid point. Flipping of an important part of the viewers just for the lulz is more likely to damage the brand in the long run, something Hasbro wouldn’t want - unless they sense a demand for Glimmercorn toys but I doubt that.  
But I figure it could be a funny idea for an April Fools special. That way the damage wouldn’t be permanent and reactions would still be given.

So basically, you think that it’s one of those “so bad it’s good” kind of ideas? It’s a bad idea, but it’s so absurdly hilarious that you can’t help but find it amusing, especially with the fandom’s reaction to it (if it happened).
 
Well, it’s not like it would make much of a difference if the producers did this on purpose to troll the fandom, or if they just did this because Hasbro wanted to “sell more toys”. After all, the fandom has an aneurysm left and right anyway whenever something in the show changes and/or changes the status quo (especially with the season finales), so what difference would it make? Unless a character broke the fourth wall and gave a “screw you” to the viewers that don’t approve, or if one of the producers state this themselves (i.e. on their Twitter), it would be impossible to know if this was done for duckery. But yeah, it wouldn’t be good in the long term, as it would be Teen Titans Go all over again (in terms of intentionally trolling their fans).
 
Heh, if Starlicorn happened, I could see raging unlike anything I’ve ever seen in the fandom. AND THEN, M. A. Larson sees Starlicorn and has a big smile on his face, and says: “You’ve learned well Haber.” The fandom continues to rage and yells NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!, while Larson is laughing evilly in the background. XD

That sounds like a good idea to the point that it sounds like a terrible idea.
 
Writing events into the continuity specifically just to piss off segements of the fanbase is a great way to start alienating fans and driving them away from the show for good.
 
Any creator that would deliberately troll their own fans like that…I don’t think it would end well. Sure, it might be hilarious in the short term to sit back and enjoy the ensuing shitstorm, but it just wouldn’t be a good thing for the show as a whole.
 
And I still prefer Luna and/or Cadence, personal preference and all that. :)

Heheheh, I’d love to see Starlicorn happen solely to see how angry the fandom would get, since I can’t take any of the fandom drama seriously. In terms of anger/drama, I’d imagine it would be like the S3 and S5 finale combined, but even worse. Having said that, I love Starlight, and I don’t think she needs wings because she’s awesome enough as she is. She’s too cool for wings, especially since she can just fly with ease by using her magic. Nevertheless, the fandom’s reaction to this (if it happened) would be amusing to see (even though it would get old after a while)! XD
