There’s only so much base magical might can do. If the entire population turns against you, you’ll need to enact something contagious to force them back. Chrysalis isn’t Sombra though, and may not care to use that kind of magic against a people she actually does care for.

Well I follow the idea that changelings are sort of ponies. Even “Elements of Harmony” book referred to them as such.
 
 
Also they have red mouth insides and tongue color matching ones of “usual” ponies.

I would have imagined a changeling would’ve had greenish-yellowish blood.

As for your Changelings castes, yeah I saw them, but I’m afraid I don’t remember too much ^^;

Not a hive mind, more a shared link. They can share ideas, thoughts, and during combat keep tabs on their fellow soldier and for the commanders to be able to move their soldiers here and there.  
{I know you saw my concepts for different changeling castes, so you should have knowledge on who does what.}
 
So it’s not a hive mind at all. It just gives the changelings a bond to which they share, making them as close as can be. One big family. {Given that Chrysalis laid most of them, not counting some who were born from mated changelings (the risk of deformities with mating with ones brother/sister is non existent in changelings), that’s no surprise.}

In my headcanon, I ditched the hive mind concept (if that’s what you’re getting at?), but the Changelings serve their queen by animalistic instincts, like real insects. Hence for THAT reason, the idea of revolt is still pretty much impossible.

WHAT?!! How dare these vile heretics strike the immortal queen? Do they not know her might has stretched through the eons, who’s very breath gave them life? DEATH TO THE VILE HERETICS!
 
{You know, in my own verse, there is only one queen of the changelings, who has a sort of mind link with her subjects, giving them a sense of familiarity and family bonds, making rebellious thoughts unthinkable.}
