No, the air just needs to try and escape faster than there is volume for it to escape. The rapid change of pressure can very easily cause your lungs to tear; not explode into pieces, but tear enough to make any further breathing impossible even if you are returned back to an atmosphere.
But they won’t actually burst. Bursting would require them to be sealed. I would think the greatest danger would be cold burns from the air evacuating out your mouth so quickly (at least before, you know, being a naked monkey in space kills you).
Yeah, but if your lungs are full when you enter the vacuum, the escaping air is very likely to cause your lungs some serious injury in the process, which is that #B70E meant.
You assume your lips can hold back the pressure of air in your lungs against hard vacuum? You don’t need to breathe out because space will “help” you exhale.
That’s assuming you have the presence of mind to exhale thoroughly beforehand - which most won’t (since it’s the opposite of the natural thing to do), resulting in pretty badly burst lungs.

Kind of, but not quite as you may think. The lack of external pressure means that all unpressurized fluids boil out instantly; i.e. all the moisture on your skin and eyeballs, which also causes those parts to frost over. Your skin and muscles keep your blood from doing the same thing, but it’s still going to expand as much as your body can allow, causing some really unhealthy bloating. Then, all the heat and moisture will slowly evaporate from your body over the course of several hours, until you become a freeze-dried mummy. Of course you’ll have choked to death long before that point.

Well considering we orbit a star that’s under 100 million miles away from us, I’d say we boil during the day.
Only if you’re near a star and it’s not blocked by something. Otherwise you chill… really really slowly, as vacuum means convection and conduction don’t work, only radiation.
Yep, turns out you boil instead.
It’s not actually freezing.
(Ouch, poor Twilight. Suffocating in the near-vacuum of space is not fun.)
