I’m not attacking people just for liking Sombra. I’ve been irritated at EqD’s crowd for a while now, being the hive of youngsters that they are. Things have definitely changed over there.

Not that I think any other site is a paradise, mind you, I just dislike their vapid comments more than most.

As for King Crystals, people are going to like what they’re going to like. I’m not an any crusade to change everyone’s mind here. Don’t forget, however, that you asked to have this conversation the moment you replied to ExtremeLurkerHomeEdition. If you want to be Sombra’s fan, that’s fine, but don’t be surprised if people continue to say he’s the least thrilling of any villain in FIM so far.

I used to go their at the time though not anymore because I for some reason lost intrest. Also you are insulting an entire site because they don’t agree with your views? Heck its not just EQD but this site aswell had a lot of sombra defenders when the shitstorm was going on.

I am not even angry at you not liking Sombra, If you don’t like him then thats fine because all characyers have their fans and haters. I myself am liked John Curter and that movie has a lot of critics and yet it doesn’t bother me.

What bothers me is your “I don’t like it therefor everyone else shouldn’t” attitude. Its something I would expect from the Sonic Fandom. I myself don’t care about Dr Who yet I respect those who like it.

What on earth are you talking about, Equestria Daily? Sheesh BP, been obsessing long? And yeah, the commentators there are such a bastion of reason and sobriety.

It doesn’t matter what it is, the majority of fans at EqD have generally approved of everything that has ever come out of the show. That is neither objective, nor is it serious. It’s just an optimistic bias.

Then explain why in EQD in the episode discussion the most upvoted comments were Pro-Sombra? You know, That discussion where you were making a snarky reply to every Pro-Sombra arguement such as

“Excuses Excuses”

Heck, when you made a comment saying That all pro-Sombra Comments are excuses someone with a changeling avatar said “Or Maybe They like a diffrrent type of villain”
The score of your comment was 4
While his Reply’s score was 8.

how can you explain that?

I find that doubtful. This apologetic for Sombra appears to ring with more of an emotional timbre than a serious and rational one. But since little prejudices are one of those things that remind me I’m talking to an actual human being and not a robot, I hope you won’t take that as too grievous an insult.

First of all, a “force” can no more be a villain than a cloudy day, and there’s nothing particularly exciting about defeating the weather.

Secondly, Sombra, as a supposed conqueror and tyrant, was not qualified to be a vague, faceless threat. He had a mind and he had intentionality, but those were so poorly expressed that it’s virtually impossible to take him seriously.

Also what would the point would be in devoloping him? His role did not need depth. He was an outaide force and he did that just fine
ExtremeLurkerHomeEdition

Sombra was a lesson, to both us and the show staff, about what villains in this show should and should not do. They need to be Discords and Chrissys, Sunsets and Trixies; be in our face, taunt the heroes, and be more of a character than a plot device.

Oh, that book contained Starswirl’s Spell? Hurr Durr on me then, though if I may defend myself for a second, that book spent most of the episode opened on Twilight’s desk. Didn’t give us many shots of the cover.

Pretty sure the book was Starswirl’s incomplete spellbook. Yeah, the ratio of time foreshadowed vs impact of actual foreshadowed macguffin itself was pretty abysmal.

I didn’t really care about Sombra being a cipher because all that time that could have been spent giving him any personality was spent on Twilight instead.

This was my favorite season-opener because of what it did with Twilight and what it seemed to be foreshadowing would happen in the future…but it never really picked back up on any of it in a sensible way, even in the rushed finale.
