It ain’t, true. But Twilight seems to be both very rich, and the sort that would get a grant no matter what. Trixie I doubt would get a grant, and due to MD it’s kind of safe to assume that she’s not rich, or not in touch with family/they’re all dead.
And if she had gone to Celestia’s school, I doubt any amount of tarnished reputation in a backwater town would keep her away from getting a half decent job anywhere that needed magic.
There are a lot of things Lauren headcanoned/bibled/wanted to see happen that are absolutely “disproven” now, and as far as I’m concerned Trixie having gone to the best school in Equestria is very close to being one of them.
This sort of backstory, and this is just from my own personal experience, fits her sort of character pretty well. I’ve met a lot of boastful jerks in my life, and with one exception (that also stood out for worse reasons), they’d all come from environments that forced them to do everything they could to stand out (very large families, crowded classrooms, poor neighbourhoods with no future, constant loss of friends over moving every schoolyear or just a string of sad events that made them feel worthless “being themselves”).
Yeah yeah, reading too much into cartoon ponies. But hey, this is what I do for fun.
Where is it said that students (or their families) have to pay to attend the School for Gifted Unicorns? I realize that elite academies in the real world usually cost a lot, but (a) things may be different in Equestria, and (b) there’s always scholarships.
Nobody needs it this big unless they’re the ones drawing it. Post it at a sane resolution, please, artists.
A lot of things that Lauren headcanoned didn’t happen in the show. This fits a lot more; after all, if she’d had the resources to go to Celestia’s school in the first place, she wouldn’t have had to resort to working on a rock farm after Boast Busters.
Some of us are of the thoery that she dropped out.
Fat lot a good it did her though. That’s like having a chemistry degree and being forced to make money from steerside pyrotechnics.
That fun fact totally ruins the “feels” this image would’ve had for me. I like Trixie and all, but she was treated the way she was simply because her ego was (and still is?) the size of Ponyville.
