After looking at the arguments and watching the episode, I cannot accept the “Trixie was suicidal” idea. She’d already set up the show, and it was part of a TOUR, it’s not like she could just back out. On top of that, suicidal people don’t act the way Trixie was. She wasn’t just scared, she really DIDN’T want to do the trick, but “the show must go on” and all that.
 
Also, the plot of the episode demanded the trick happen anyway. shrug

The truth might even be down the middle: A manticore who was in on the trick and harmless to the audience, but would have just accepted the meal if the teleportation was unsuccessful.

Given how often I deal with people who actually think their opinions are hard facts (you’d be surprised at how many) it’s kinda hard not to take phrasing as it is.

I still think this was a good episode but if people don’t like it whatever, I still think people saying she tried to commit suicide are trying too hard though.

Twilight was right, trixie manipulated starlighth just to mess with her.

I have to agree, the pacing was rather off.  
But I disagree with the rest.  
The interactions between Starlight and Trixie, as well as their “whining”, were the most real things about this episode. And the only really dumb thing that anybody did was Twilight not trusting her pupil to make her own decisions. The writers are treating her like an absolute control freak even after Starlight proved her capabilities in the first episode of the season. There is no excuse for that.

Gotta love it when the episode quite literally has a character attempting to commit suicide… Like, what the fuck was that? I would say that this was probably the worst episode so far this season, more due to the other ones being generally solid than this one being bad or anything… The “I was a cult leader jokes” just really didn’t work, and the suicide attempt was rather awkward.

I would like to remind you that the fandom is made up of many people, not just one. It reacting differently means that different people are reacting. Feel free to look for inconsistencies among individuals, but it is much harder to judge a huge group.
 
Also, don’t be a phrase nazi or whatever: saying “that was trash” and “I think that that was trash” are basically the same thing. You can assume that it is the person’s opinion in both cases. People don’t need to say “in my opinion” after every sentence…
