I see. I’d imagine there’s a name for an ornamental neck garment for horses. I thought peytral was referring to a piece of horse clothing in life, not a human one, seeing as most of everything in FiM is given a horse term; foal, filly, mare, bridle, saddle, horseshoes, et cetera.
I don’t know if purely decorative peytrals were ever a thing, but the human equivalent – the gorget – did indeed evolve from an actual component of functional armor into a largely non-functional piece of dress used to indicate rank.
Talking horses could do the same with peytrals, yes?
