It’s important to have self-discipline and awareness in a relationship. It was extremely poignant to me how you can really hurt someone you love without meaning to or even knowing you’re doing it.
I really love this image because it’s so strong, yet it does it without being overbearing or melodramatic, it’s very realistic, and a cautionary tale / call to action. Maybe someone needs your love and you’re ignoring them. And when you finally get in a relationship, remember to never let this happen because it could, so easily, without you even really knowing.
Also makes me think of shipping in general. Something that really needs to be considered in a relationship is that - well, I really do believe in compatibility. A Rarity sort of person will need a partner who will give her all the attention she yearns for, so someone who can’t get off the computer and go to bed on time could easily end up doing this, and that’s so many of us :q
Just how much effort she’s put into making herself all pretty for him, and he doesn’t even notice her…

given that it clearly states “ignoring them” at the top I’m pretty sure the context is very clear.
Anytime I ask someone what they are thinking about or what they would like to do, I’m not doing it to be polite, but because I’m worried I might be boring the hell out of them and maybe they’d prefer to be doing something else.
Not everyone is a huge talker either, but if me and my loved one can’t ever find stuff to talk about, that would be a bad sign too.
Context is pretty clear, though, given its, well, context it’s drawn in.
And yeah, but somepony like Rarity would almost certainly want at least some attention after one of you have presumably been working all day. She looks like she’s put some work into prettying herself up.

I think that’s part of the reason I find this so extremely poignant, even somewhat haunting. But I’m not quite sure what the full reason I find it so sharp is.
