Don’t you think you’re overstating things a bit there? Even if I wasn’t put off by the pairing, I can’t imagine how I could see this as anything but just okay, artistically. Their proportions are a little wonky, the shading is typical, and the image uses only a simple, single-color background. It’s not really bad, but it’s also not nearly as impressive as some of the other featured images I’ve seen. Take these beauties, for example:

Eh, I’ve finally had it. From now on and for any featured image that comes around, anyone bitching about it being featured, about “finally a good featured image!” or just generally any sort of useless bitching about the whole “featured image” thing is getting their comment wiped and a week ban minimum. Tired of this crap.
