She might not even make an announcement. Most people just bolt from shows. This one just happens to have a fandom that’s involved with the goings-on of the show staff.
 
It could mean something else, but the context (just in having a conversation with someone) really seems to imply that she’s done with the show. Faust said she was surprised it had been that long of a ride (the “ride” being “the full length of the show,” because it is celebrating 5 years for the anniversary), and she said she was done with the ride (again, the “ride” is “the full length of the show.”)
 
I don’t have a source for it, but I remember Sibsy saying that she will get tired of working on any show or a project. She’s an artist. They’re flighty and stuff. After 5 full years on a show, I’m sure she’s been meaning to move on at some point soon. She isn’t making The Simpsons’ money. And if she and Mando are still together, then I imagine she’ll want to move closer to him/they want to move to a different place together.
 
It’s an assumption, but I think it’s the most likely reason.

I think we need to remember that at least in animation, there’s always better positions as you get more experienced - you don’t want to stay a storyboardist for all your life, for example, even if you are really good at it. I think most people in animation want to make their own cartoons at some point or another and so its always a struggle of moving up that chain.
 
So with Sibsy, she moved from a basic storyboardist (including for earlier shows), got her chops as lead ‘boardist with pony, and now has a chance to move into a directing-type position (I’d guess). Following in Lauren’s path.
 
The key for us as fans is that she’s helped create the legacy to keep the show going for at least one more season + feature film + eqg4 + whatelse might come. She did her part to make the show great, others have picked up on that, so it’s not like the end of the world.

Agreed. It’s not impossible that she is leaving the show, but I do have my doubts until things are 100% confirmed.

Why don’t we wait until she makes an official announcement before assuming anything? She could be taking a break for a season (Like M.A. Larson did), or perhaps means the last episode she storyboarded for this season airs next week.
 
There’s about a dozen things this could mean. Leaving the show/DHX could be one of them, but it could also mean a number of other things as well. So why worry about it?

This is really sad.

If she is indeed leaving the show, I hope she finds something that makes her happy!

She may be leaving but the show will go on, for Season 6 has been confirmed!

This saddens me if it really implies she will leave the show. However she does seem to animate some episodes in S6 in that case.
