Oh, I’m not talking about lack of character, I mean her personally. She had one job: come up with a dance. She didn’t manage that until the day of the performance (which seems to be a habit with ponies). When she finally manages to get chugging and hopping, it’s very clear that she’s not going to have her dancers ready in time. Then what happens? Sky Wishes swoops in, literally, and steals the entire show, without so much as a second thought for the performance Twinkle’s been working on all day. Even Minty never managed a success rate that abysmal.

As much as I love G3, I have to agree. Poor girl got no characterisation in Dancing in The Clouds.
 
Then again, Dancing in The Clouds had no conflict that Skywishes didn’t resolve nearly instantly with a wish, which made her lack depth as well.

Alas poor Twinkle Twirl, perhaps the biggest failure of G3.
