Is it me, or is Mac talking just that much more meaningful than most other scenes.

Oh, there are always a few, I think. In this case it seems to be a handful that believe any humor derived from a male cross dressing is unforgivable while conveniently overlooking the fact that (1) the episode is entirely positive about the occurrence (i.e., there are no instances where the ponies are laughing at big mac, and no one objects to him participating in drag while he’s still playing fair), and (2) that the cross dressing is only done out of a desire to bond with a sibling (and subsequently has no connection to any kind of transgender issues or phobias).
 
Plus it is unbelievably heartwarming. That’s not really a point about anything, just a comment that deserves to be said anytime this episode is mentioned.

The same seems to count for eqd, /mlp/ and even the youtube comments. And not everyone on tumblr is against this episode either. I suppose it’s a small minority who just happens to scream the loudest, are against this episode. Too bad they’re not able to understand what the focus of this episode was really about…but whatever it’s their loss.

Actually less controversy might not even be an issue. I was quite please that the vast majority of discussion on the episode here has been in support of the direction it took.

This episode needs to get more art than it’s been getting.

The only part of the episode I can say I liked. The rest was torture, at least for me.

Man I kinda wish this episode aired before the last one, cause AJ’s subplot in that episode works a LOT better in the full context of AB’s like, hero worship to her.
 
And also the parallels between how Mac feels like he can’t live up to AJ’s status, and AJ’s own self-doubt???

I haven’t seen the episode yet, but…  
Mac, the fact that this is your effort and you admit it makes it true. Even in some small way.
