The End wasn't The End - Found a new home after the great exodus of 2012

@Grumpykins
… Unless you haven’t seen beyond the Lich’s first appearance, you have no reason to not know that.

@Mayojar77
Huh,didn’t know that :I

The snail turned out to be a servant of the Lich.

Big would better be a Snorlax,complete with beating your ass after waking him up in a bad mood
He’s a great guy with just a bad sleeping habit and being a total doof…but don’t ruin his naps,just don’t,for your own safety and those around you.

Or the Snail from Adventure Time or that Asian guy from Professor Layton.
He has no sense of direction and ends up in the most implausible of places(for example:Eggman’s Panic Room,the Ancient treasure vault of the old tribe in the game)

Yeah, true. Some do like Big though.
I liked how they “hid” Big the cat in some games, making him Sonic’s “Derpy” at times. They should keep doing that, or have him as like a hidden joke-character in “Sonic Boom,” or something. (Seeing Big run through loopty-loops would be funny.)

@Beau Skunky
Personally I had no problem with him,it’s just that a vocal part fandom that dislikes him,thus…the opinion gets overestimated.

Well, while his fishing levels weren’t as fun as fishing in say, Zelda, I still like Big the cat, he was kinda funny, and I like how his character design looked kinda like a Miyazaki character.

@Beau Skunky
I forgot about Vector and the DS for a few seconds,my bad..but Big wasn’t the most popular character in the fandom(well the fishing mini-game has something to do with it),to say the least :P.

Y’know, not all of the official Sonic characters have that design. Just look at Vector the croc, the “Deadly Six,” and Big the cat. In fact, Knux’s body type is a bit similar to Vector’s now.

Thanks, and yeah he does…

I for one welcome Knuckles’s brother, Shoulders.
Background Pony #C56C
it is natural to assume a guy who punches a lot of shit would have greater upper body strength so yeah, this is a good design, in both representation of what he’s all about and to draw distinction from sonic’s slim blue frame.

it’ because he has lego feet
Grumpykins

Doesn’t look too bad,to be honest.
At least it adds some form of body differences,so it will inspire some parts of the sonic fandom to draw a different body type besides tube limbs with shoes/gloves and large head.
Or gain him more of an furry-LGBT fanbase,whichever floats your boat.

I’m with you there on every point.
Ken Penders needs to grow the fuck up.

I’m hoping it’s a bit more like the new TMNT series, or even sonic SatAm if we’re pushing it. An overaching story with twists and turns and character development.

Maybe to go along with his strength, or maybe so he’ll look a li’l more different then Sonic. I don’t mind the “redesigns,” if they just used the usual Sonic game canon designs, the show would just look like “Sonic X in 3D.”

Apparently, these designs are just going to be used in the “Sonic Boom” TV series, and game-adaption. (Which is apparently going to be a prequel/pilot to the TV series’ story-wise.)

Can i say something ? As a Sonic fan,i still dont understand why they made Knuckles this buff ? No anger or ill-feelings, i just wonder why,that’s all.

Probably, especially sense Chris Chan supposedly tried to copyright that Sonichu OC/thing of his, and even called some guy up, and threatened legal matters, because he did a parody of his Sonichu character…

Worst part is I see some people trying to even justify/praise Ken for screwing up the Sonic comic, or think he has a right to own his OC characters… If Ken can freely own his Sonic fan-characters, and make his own rip-off comic, then we all owe Chris Chan an apology.

Some crazy guy on Youtube called SkullyX99, or something even tried to blame the removal of the Penders characters NOT on Ken, but on current writer Ian Flynn, (who was not involved in the Penders’ legal case, at all, as far as I know) and he claimed Ian only made the “Sonic & Megaman” crossover story arc to get rid of Penders’ characters… (Don’t try to make sense out of that.)
When I corrected him on that, (even pointing out the crossover was mandated by Sega & Capcom) the guy just insulted me…
If that were true, Ian could’ve easily gotten rid of them back in #175 when Knothole was destroyed, or back in #230 when the first time-rift happened, if Ian wanted to get rid of them that badly. (Also ironically, Ian’s a fan of Penders’ work, and used his characters quite frequently in the comic to in the past 8 years.)

Sorry if I’m going off on a tangent, but as a fan of the Sonic comics, I’m pretty sour with Ken. (Which I’m sorry to say, ‘cause I like his stories/characters to.)
At least, he can’t claim ownership over the SatA.M. characters.

Ken is the equivalent of the author of the ‘My Little Unicorn’ series.
Or ‘Sonichu’.

Y’know, after looking at this pic, I say we ‘ship Derpy with Knux. :P (J/K)

@Mayojar77
That’s cool, I saw one in the store. I just stick to the “Sonic Archive” books though, sense the Digests are pretty much reprints to. (They have some cool new art, and such in them though I saw at times. Plus they’ve done a few stories the Archive/Legacy books haven’t reached yet.)

Ironically, I hear Ken didn’t even design all of the characters he claims to. I saw a fan compare his Geoffrey St. John character to a nameless background skunk character in the second season to the 1993 Sonic SatA.M. TV series whom looked almost exactly like Geoffrey, so Ken might’ve gotten the character from that.
(So it’s ironic for Ken to be all, “MY CHARACTERS DO NOT STEAL!”)

He’s also trying to claim ownership of Scourge, even though he was made by artist Spaziante. Ken claims he supposedly made “Evil Sonic” whom Scourge originally was before his redesign. (Remember “Evil Sonic?” How the hell can Ken claim ownership over a character that’s basically an evil alternate-world version of Sonic? A character that IS BASICALLY SONIC! Not like Ken came up with that concept to, it’s been a trope in comics sense “Superman & Bizzaro.”)
As much as I was a fan of Penders’ stories, I’m quite pissed at him for forcing them to do a semi-reboot of the comic, and remove all of his characters. (Ones like Geoffrey, Rob O’Hedge, and almost all of the echidnas. Except maybe Finitevus.)
I hope this doesn’t effect the Sonic & Knuckles Archive reprint books to…

Ken actually is planning on making a “Lara-Su Chronicles” comic featuring his echidna characters he made… (And judging from the designs he posted on his site, he’s still using the Sega-ish Knuckles designs for them… So he can use Sega’s concepts, but they can’t use his? Ugh…) Can’t say I’m excited for it though.

Most Sonic fans on Deviantart have no taste.
And I’m aware of the mini digest, I have a couple of copies.

And really, just because he designed the characters doesn’t mean they belong to him. And anyway, he quit the series before starting all that drama. Unless he wants to make his own freelance furry comic, he’s got no reason to want those characters.

Don’t know what he really thinks about the Sonic comic, but I said he was trying to get Ian fired off the Megaman comic. (And failing.) Though, there are quite a few Sonic fans who hate Ian, or love his work on the Sonic comic, as well.

Alot of Sonic fans on DA hate the comics, (some even gave me crap for liking them, one guy goes, “You have no taste”) but from what I’ve heard regardless the Sonic comics are doing quite good regardless, and are among Archie Comics’ best selling series. (They even started a new mini “digest” book series for it.)

(I take it Ken Penders is that “greedy A-hole?” Considering all the legal-drama he started. I wish Penders’ realized the characters/stories he contributed to the Sonic comic belong to the comic’s “continuity/canon,” rather then himself.)
