Luna is the Lapis of MLP. The blue character with little screen time compared to others, but is somehow a fan favorite.

We knew much more about Celestia and her personality in Season 1, what with her enjoying mischief and hating stuffy formal events like the Gala, while Luna had only two lines in the Season Premiere. Like I said I prefer Luna over Celestia, but the fandom was batshit crazy for Luna before Season 2 even started and Celestia got the ‘Tyrantlestia’ treatment for daring to banish the poor watery-eyed woobie with the sad backstory.

more like Luna have some character development over all seasons? we see her job, her problems even while being almighty demigod (her fears, her sister relations like in SB dream episode, her social problems like in Halloween episode), etc… while Celestia… idk, she is like “god mother”, “teacher”, “perfect leader”, “the guide”, “the Major from Powerpuff Girls who calls them when something bad happens”, etc. Maybe this is the reason why artists always draw Celestia as the more sexy one, the one with more developed body, more lewd/naughty/confident/sexskilled compared to Luna, to fix the “character backbone” she miss in show.
