No, I never got one of those, I never even knew they had those. According to the official merchandise, Minuette is “always on time with the help of some magic” and her house has an hourglass theme. Dr. Hooves has the same cutie mark by the way, and he is very much related to time.
 
From what I’ve read, cuite marks for background ponies were just assigned at random, so Minuette’s is just there because someone put it there before they headed out for their lunch break. They just tried to work with what they had after cutie marks had been randomly assigned.

Again I’m not to concerned about the dentist thing just putting some theories out there, also you never got on of those little hour glasses after visiting the dentist that tells you how long to brush? I got one almost every time I visited the dentist.

The thing about that is her cutie mark; it’s an hourglass. Not related to dentistry at all. Even her house is hourglass-themed. I’m guessing her talent is something to do with time keeping.

I’ve seen it rarely with some others in recent episodes. Though yeah, through the vast majority of the series they just used mirror images of the ponies when they turned around.

At this point in the episode, I was worried that her alicorn status was going to have an effect on their friend dynamic; like they were going to be too distracted by the wings to talk to her like they used to or they would have become shallow sycophants in the interim. Glad to see those concerns were unfounded.

I don’t care about the whole dentist thing but you do realize she was a kid when she was in that school right? She could have trained as a dentist in another school when she got older, you aren’t going to know what your career is going to be as a child.

That especially pissed me off about “Colgate”. From the very first episode of MLP, we knew that she was a student who went to the same school as Twilight. But noooooo. The bronies just HAD to make her a dentist and ignore the fact that she attends a school about magic. Stupid, stupid, stupid bronies.

It’s funny, for all the jokes about Colgate being a dentist or whatever, I can’t remember any CHARACTER for her that fans had come up with. She wasn’t like Lyra or Derpy, her entire gimmick was “Her hair looks like toothpaste” and that was it.
 
I love the new version of her.
