I’m kinda saddens that the only thing a lot of people seem to know about Wilford Brimley his diabetes commercial (and possibly his Quaker Oates commercial). The guy has so many things he’s been in that could make great material to make fun of, but no, repeat the same diabetes commercial from several years ago.

I’m a Type-1 (insulin-dependent) diabetic – have been since I was five – so I can make jokes about it killing people and/or pones. But I’m sure someone will complain…
 
Yes, I’m aware that many diabetics have indeed died because they “ran out” of insulin. It’s not a merciful disease, and ketoacidosis is a horrible way to go.
 
Not to get heavy about it, but at the end of the day, it is one’s own personal responsibility to keep it (and relevant supplies) on-hand at all times, and take it as necessary and prescribed.
 
Check your blood sugar, and check it often.
 
Because diabeetus. Also, oatmeal.
