Celestia was talking the whole time, so it doesn’t look like a nip. THere would need to be a pause in the dialogue, I think.

Truth be told, after seeing this scene, it made sense that during all of Discord and the Smooze’s antics, Celestia had been ready for whatever mischief, chaos, and discomfort, would befall her during the Gala, but maintained the ruse that she was just as annoyed and angry with Discord as Twilight and the rest of the Mane Six were.
 
Once amends were made and the party continued without a hitch, Celestia decided to then reveal the ruse to Twilight, and Twilight’s reaction upon realizing Celestia had been prepared for this all along and had been playing along and fooling her since the Gala started is priceless!!

Auuugh, she’s so fucking cute! Those little ears!

And now it is firmly established that the gala is the time of the year Celestia’s silently seething disdain for her feckless simpering subjects reaches its apex and she needs to see them battle each other to displace her growing aggression.

This wasn’t anything new. We already knew she was a prankster who thought the Gala was boring. And we knew she had a sense of humour. It was a thing throughout the show.
 
It’s just that she doesn’t act like that when things get super serious

Besides Celestia being adorable, I also love Twilight giving her a stink eye for a split second.

Did anyone else feel as though Celestia showed more emotion in this scene than the rest of the series.
 
She showed happiness that I’ve only seen in fan fiction.

I love the look on Twilight’s face while Celestia pushes her.
