“I was commissioned to recreate the classic Crisis on Infinite Earths #7 cover with My Little Pony characters and this was the result.
For those who may be upset by the imagery, I’d like to point out the “z” word bubble pointing toward Twilight and that “Future Twilight” is hidden amongst the crowd.
I gotta say, it was a blast.

I remember reading their forums when they did that, They got rid of the classic Sonja origin where she was assaulted because it was sexist. But the chainmail bikini? That’s A-OK!

I just have the theory that alicorns are innately linked to what they represent. Which would explain why Celestia doesn’t handle things herself real often, since losing the sun would kill everything. But yours is interesting too.
that works as a theory since you stated “As Alicorn Princess” Although, I think canon proves beyond that.
What if fate had chosen twilight from the beginning.
Look at it like this.
That said, Twilight has always had friendship in her life, she just didn’t recognize it as friendship before Ponyville. Therefore your theory could in fact be correct.
That could also support my theory as well about the Element Bearers becoming immortal as well. You notice there are no more cutie marks on the tree of harmony. After being infused with the elements, and no longer needing to bear them physically (Being struck by the light from the box in season 4 finale) They have become immortal, and thus the final 6 bearers of the elements, for eternity.
(Note: This here animal can literally die from loneliness.)
My pet theory is that it means Twilight, as Alicorn Princess of Friendship, needs friendship to survive, and without it she can literally die of loneliness.
It’s ridiculous, but could be interesting.
That doesn’t mean Twilight isn’t immortal. With that tweet, it could also mean her friends become immortal. If they don’t die, she cannot outlive them.
I’ll second the cover, but I’m indifferent to how it’s done.

And then they pull a Disney to magically bring her back to life to keep the movie kid-friendly.
