Celestia’s control on the Elements leaving makes it so Discord can escape. If nopony else has access to the Elements, that means Celestia does, and I assume it was an automatic incantation, maintained by the Power of Christ. Rather, as their wielder, she ensured he never escape by mere thought. Them being in another location altogether didn’t seem to affect their strength on his prison. :T
