As for the comic I did, I’ve been pretty good at freehand copy work for a long time now. That’s how I did those models I’ve gained a bit of fame in the fandom for. (And the reason I have the name I use here too).

My next project for here is an idea I had for a short comic with the Dazzlings from after Rainbow Rocks.  
It’d need 6 scenes to get the joke across for this one, so it’ll take a little longer to do.

That’s a great question. I for one can’t validate that last thing about “uniting the world” by any stretch. I might even say it’s on the opposite track.
 
I’ve discovered for a group that is marginalized it sure marginalizes others. Do Sonic fans and the more mainstream furries bash this fandom the way it does them? I’m certainly curious about that for example. Doesn’t seem like “uniting” anything there.

I’d suspect it’d be the overly vocal few that give the rest a bad rep.
 
That said, the fact an excessive amount of the fan artwork is explicit probably isn’t helping our image.  
I don’t use the filters.  
It’s almost a guarantee that at least 3 of the 4 images in the 3 day top scoring will be at best questionable.

YouTube and 4chan are what demonized it in the first place since they have a LOT of obnoxious fans. Places like reddit, deviantART and here have much more tolerant and smart people, whether they’re a brony or just a fan of the art.

Whenever people talk about how bad the fandom is, I always get a little curious. Derpibooru is the only connection I really have with the fandom, and hey, you guys are pretty swell.
 
I wonder if it’s really that bad, or if it’s just the case of a few loudmouths being labelled as “the entire fandom”.

Absolutely agree. I’m definitely one for some kinky, risqué stuff, but as long as it’s in moderation and not downright disgusting. And though I hate to admit it, even some of the porn I’ve seen is beautifully made and detailed, even though it’s beyond explicit.

Ironically, some of the people who demonize the brony/MLP fandom for that, make some rather risque’/lewd, or even downright pornographic stuff of their favorite cartoon/game/movie series to. Even more ironic, a few brony-haters who were demonizing them for the fan-pr0nz, even make pony-pr0n themselves.
 
As for me, I’m a bit bashful, so I’m not into the pr0n, (I won’t even draw anything worse then a “bikini,” or something) but I have nothing against those who are into it.

Must admit, I’m more a fan of the fandom than the actual show.  
It’s the insane amount of fan art, (ranging from ‘What’s this supposed to be?’ to ‘This Is Gorgeous!’).
 
I have noticed more than a few fan artists that have gone from mediocre skill here to being some of the best.
 
Even the likes of Yakovlev-Vad can be counted amongst the artists that have improved drastically.

The fandom is far from the worst thing. The worst thing about it is the “false fans”, people who are self righteous and make the rest of the fandom look really bad. That’s where all the hate spurred in the first place. You can’t blame the entire fandom for something a few idiots have done. If you still feel the fandom is the worst part, then you have no business on websites like these and should take your business elsewhere. No offense.

I think the only main thing wrong with the brony fandom are the excessively negative, or self-righteous fans, whom think they’re the only sane/good MLP-fan/brony/pegasister around.

“Sources needed” tag? Yeah, good luck with that. I think this was a screenshot I took while watching a video of someone talking about bronies as a fandom and showing this as one of the many points. There’s really no way to find this comment.

Despite the overly-romanticized view of the fanbase here, he makes a good point. The fanbase isn’t perfect, and has issues, and some bad eggs like every fandom. Though, there’s still good things about it, some people forget, and some good reasons to not be ashamed of being a brony.
 
We may not “unite the world” anytime soon, but at least we’ve done some good.

To be honest, I am more in line with unnamednewbie13 on this one. I don’t believe in free entry groups. Bronydom has brought upsides, like charity events, and it also has brought downsides, like internet witch hunts.  
Overall the fandom is the worst thing about MLP. Amazing porn, excellent show, annoying fandom.
