Yeah it pretty much seems that way. I mean there’s been like what, 5-6 spinoff games since KH2 came out? It’s getting rigoddamndiculous at this point. And if anyone asks them about 3 they always dodge the question. If you’re not fucking developing it right now fucking say so instead of leading the fanbase on.
@Yorec I think the creative team behind Kingdom Hearts does not understand how buildup works. It LOOKS like they’re trying to build up anticipation for another main console Kingdom Hearts game with all these prequels and spinoffs, but they’ve been doing this for so damn long that they’ve forgotten to make KH3, and so all the buildup feels like stalling.
@RIG Soooo in other words, Kingdom Hearts has removed all pretense and started stealing from Bleach. Although the comparisons between those two and how closely they both were released make me wonder who stole from what initially.
also, KH 3DS implies that Sora has the power to restore the existence of people and that his mission is too restore all those which existence was delete (Roxas, Namine and that “girl”) and rescue those with a fate worse than death (Terra, Ventus and Aqua).

@RIG What’s funny is that the IDEA of Xion in itself is not all that terrible; indeed, I’ve always hated Roxas much more for the same reasons people hate Xion, blatant fanwank character whose existence makes no sense if he was ALWAYS meant to be a member of Org 13 and who is the driving force behind so much, praised so highly, and yet amounts to nothing. And indeed Xion’s death DID have legitimate weight and featured what I loved most about the Nobodies in KH2: when they die, they die for good. The problem is…well, they didn’t research Mary Sues enough to dodge the pitfalls, so an interesting deconstruction is hamstringed by playing the archetype just a bit too straight.
second thing.5: some people are just hating it for being more famous than a favoured work of theirs despite being shitty quality. Such as everyone who likes Pern or Patricia Wrede raging like crazy over Eragon. Or fans of any other vampire-y thing ever hating on Twilight and Dark Hunger.

I would actually argue there IS a point to hating fictional characters. Two points, in fact!
The first is positive: if we hate a character on a personal level, it’s not that we TAKA DA TINGS 2 SERIOUZLY, it’s that they’re so well written that they illicit such a response on a real level. A perfect example of this is Dr. Ozaki from Shiki: he’s such a well-written bastard that you feel legitimate hatred for the man, and that gets a real response.
The second is a BIIIIIIG negative: when we hate a character for being obnoxious, poorly-written fanwank, it’s not us TAKAING DA DINGS DOO SERIOUS, it’s a legitimate frustration with bad storytelling and bad characterization. No matter what anti-haters might tell you, the role of the viewer is not to have a nebulous feeling of fuzziness for creative works: their reactions speak to the quality, or lack of quality, in the work. So when we react to characters like Nyx with disdain, it’s not a sign that we’re idiots, it’s a sign that whoever made this character is an incompetent fuckwit.
And getting pissed and enraged is less a problem with idiocy as much as it is overexpressing of legitimate concerns, much like bringing a pistol to a small claims court.
Hell, here’s MY question: why are people so quick to defend Nyx? What makes her Kingdom Hearts Lite character “arc” so damn special?

Guys, this was going to happen sooner or later. This place is dedicated to the archival of Pony images and pony-related images. As such, Nyx is a pony OC (a rare pony OC that ISN’T completely hated by the entire fanbase, which includes people outside of here), and therefore fits the criteria of “Pony-related images.”
TL;DR: Nyx was going to come here eventually, it was only a matter of when. If you were half-way intelligent you would’ve filtered her out and left the rest of us the fuck alone because arguing about OCs is an argument that nobody wins.
