But, the South WAS ready to give up having slaves! in fact, if left alone, the South would have integrated a lot faster, then was actually the case But, it sounds like you’re following the correct teaching of history.. So I may as well stop now.

as far as i know, no other country in the world went to war on itself with slave owning a big part of the reason as to why. i know the north has slaves and are more open to the notion of giving them up than the south (seeing it’s more of an agricultural region, it’s bad for business to suddenly pay your workers after having a system of technically free labor (you have to buy them after all so it’s not totally free labor)).

If you think that it was only the South that had Slaves…. Then you Sir are delusional. You may want to actually study EXACTLY what the Emancipation Proclamation is, and more to a point did exactly JACK-ALL for those Slaves trapped along the Border States or, in the North for that matter.
 
’Cause it seems to me that your under the misconceived notion that the Civil War was fought over Slavery, when it was in fact over Taxation. Slavery only became THE ISSUE when it started looking like Great Briton, and France were going to ally themselves with the South. Which was the first primary reason the Emancipation Proclamation even came into existence at all!
 
The Second, reason was to give the U.S. Army card blanch to capture said Slaves, and possibly re-use them as cannon fodder for the War.
 
Had the North actually cared about the “Slave (integration), Issue”, then expain to why it took well over the next Hundred Years, just to reach the Equal Rights Era?
