At work they’ve given me a 2012 MacBook Pro with just 4 GB, and God it was slow! I had to stare for dozens of seconds to that tacky spinning candy waiting for things to be done. And I’m a web developer: I don’t need much hardware resources.
Shortly after it was upgraded to 16 GB and it’s fine since then (*). But I still remember that period as a working nightmare.
(*) Still slower than my Windows 10 Lenovo laptop with just 8 GB of RAM, though. But I’ve changed its HDD with an SSD, har har har!
A: OS X El Capitan came from this year.
B: That’s not why I buy from Apple.
Honestly, I buy from Apple because of the simplicity. I can play games fine, make documents, edit videos, and keep track with a digital calendar. That’s all I want, and that’s all I need. I’ve used Windows, and I didn’t like it. I only use Windows 7 for games that can’t operate on OS X. Otherwise, it’s simple and powerful thing that can use Internet for games and surfing.
