Maybe it’s paint, either frequently reapplied like makeup or dyed to be relatively permanent.

My guess, with diamond needles. Diamomd is the hardest substance know and even with dragon scales that are rumored to be nigh invincible (except for other dragons, obviously) you would need needles that could penetrate scales to make a tattoo on a drake/dragoness work.

Eh, Spike needs more non-Mane pals with non-Mane interests as opposed to FRESH ROMANTIC TENSION(GASP!) at this point in his life. Plus, going with a Spike/other dragon hookup strikes me as oddly like pairing off two minority characters Just Because(C) in a human-centric show. Little dude was doing a fine job of forging his own way among ponekind, show or comic.

Could be, but I’m not sure about it. And let’s say that Spike is Scott Pilgrim and Mina is Ramona Flowers. Hmm, still not sure about this.

Is she the comic shop owner? Because if that’s the case, that’s another reason for Spike to make a trip to Canterlot–remember in “Power Ponies” he said that he got his comic from the House of Enchanted Comics there. And look at how she’s dressed–low cut jeans, wearing a thong, got a tattoo of Nightmare Moon on her left shoulder, baby doll shirt that is just showing her midriff. I could bet that she also has a little goth in her.
 
Mina looks like the completed opposite of Rarity, personality-wise at least. This would be and great alternative to Sparity, and serious could be one that actually happens. As it is, you know opposites attract.

I honestly like her despite the hate for some reason. She’s cute, and its good to see Spike made a friend from his species. Even if its not canon.
