Oh, I understand that.
Apparently the blue shell was made for balance reasons, specifically so players other than second and third can feasibly knock first place off course and further influence the race.
That or a troll.
Let’s keep things simple (and Y rated) by calling your friend a jerk.
I feel the inventor of the Spiny Shell was someone who hated people.
OH GODS, I remember that happening to me. My friend was all “Oh look what I got…” , I’m in first place obviously, and he just taunts me and of course times it just perfectly before the finish line for it to smack me upside the head…
There is only word for people that do that, as funny as it is in hindsight, and that word is not appropriate for this image’s rating…
True. That’s happened to me plenty of times.
Then you turn into an even bigger ass by not throwing it immediately and keeping whoever’s first in suspense.
Of course…as soon as you get yourself that shell it instantly turns you into an ass. Doesn’t matter if you’re a saint, you got that big middle finger button for first place and you’re gonna use it and smile…feeling vindicated by your actions when you, yourself have received “Big Blue” from the rear.
But people who throw the Spiny Shell usually have evil grins when doing so. At least the people whom I play with do.
I think she’s the one that tossed the shell.
Also, Sweetie Belle’s face looks odd. Especially for a trick.
That’s a quad, I got so sick of seeing Rosaline stomp me in one on 150cc that I saw that thing in my sleep for weeks. Also, I was surprised to see one in Mario Kart, really was not expecting it.
Now I really wish I have internet. It’ll be a lot more fun to play these games with other players than by yourself. The last time I’ve done that was back with SSB Brawl. Despite the lags I had a good time, especially with those I knew over friend codes I’ve gotten on YouTube.

I ran into a few hackers when playing “Sonic Rush Adventure” (DS) online before. (It’s easy to tell, especially in “find the most rings” VS mode, they’s start the match with 999 rings…) They kinda take the fun out of it, but my friend Anna said she ran into a hacker once in MKWii, that was actually trying to make the game more fun/random for other people by giving them items, blasting himself, and stuff.
Back when Mario Kart Wii was out I did play the online races. I won a few the first time playing, but after that I lost every race. It didn’t help much when hackers dominated that server and cheated on every race…
It’s hard to say for me, I’ve lost alot, and won alot to. Usually I win by luck. lol
I wish they would give you coins for “battle” mode in MK7… (You need a rediculous ammount to unlock the golden kart.)
I can’t say to be certain sense I don’t have internet to play the online features. I did read about it on TVtropes about that subject, so its very likely. Yeah, it can effect the online gameplay depending on how much you’ve won.
I still can’t even get 3-stars in 150cc in MK7, it’d be pure luck for me to do that. So it’s not just MK8.
BTW in online mode in MK7 & 8, does how good you play effect the likelyhood of who you race against being in the same level of “experience” as you?
I don’t recall having that much trouble in other Mario Kart installments, other than just Wii and 8. Aiming to get three gold stars on 150cc requires more patience, luck, determination, and almost perfect driving skills. Heck, I’m still trying to figure how they are catching up to me in certain courses.
As for Sweetie, she is just summoning her inner “Luigi” (if you know what I mean). Bonus points for acquiring the blue shell for maximum intimidation.
150cc is supposed to be hard, it’s the hardest mode in every Mario Kart game. Not that human players in online mode are any easier. (Still online is more fun.)
