I should back that up by saying less of the western racism that can pop up among bronies from time to time, but more eastern racism. Like, a character who was chinese would often be depicted as lazy and useless because that’s how those particular japanese nerds viewed chinese people.

And they say Brownies have the second worst fandom behind Sonic. Apparently they never came across a Touhou-fag before. Or perhaps they’re Ones who think that the Sh– doesn’t smell…
 
I don’t if I can really associate with the people you described, but yeah, there were serious problems with pedophilia and racism IIRC.

That’s Suika from Touhou. I’m surprised you didn’t know, since the Touhou fandom was in many ways the brony fandom before bronies. Similar attitudes (tho from what I recall a little less worthy of criticism), lots of fanworks, conventions and events held in Japan fairly frequently. Technically, it’s still around, but it’s not as big as it used to be.
